I have tried to post a new thread in general discussion 3 times, and it never comes up what am i doing wrong?

When you are at a particular forum, there is a "New Thread" button at the top or bottom of the screen in the left hand corner. Click on that, write your message and click submit. It should come up, just fine......

I just have one thing to comment on. I don't want to offend anyone or anything, it's just my opinion.

But anyway *huge breath* .....I think things are getting kind of out of hand with the "donating members" privileges. I mean you can't participate in the gift exchanges without donating X amount of money, you can't post in certain sections without donating X amount of money, etc. To me, that's just a little rediculous. Some people just can't afford to donate $25 or more to a website. Some people (a lot more people than you would think) are seriously living paycheck to paycheck, and they can't enjoy those things that other members enjoy because they don't have extra money. I'm on other websites - even bigger websites - that don't have donating members at all, and it's awesome because I really feel like everyone is getting treated fairly...which as much as I hate to say it, I don't feel that is the case here.

that's all I really have to say. Just my $0.02.

Okay, I hate to come across as a big meany and trust me there have been times in my life where money was tight. When my husband and I were starting out even a bottle of nail polish was a huge splurge so I can really understand that not everyone can afford to donate, but... (please don't get mad) if someone truly cannot afford it, then they can't afford to participate in the gift exchange.

Thank you for your feedback. We used to have no restrictions on the Gift Exchange, which unfortunately led to quite a few people joining the Gift Exchanges, getting gifts, but not sending any gifts, basically scamming YorkieTalk members. We feel this is very unfair to those that follow the rules and spirit of the Gift Exchange. This is not what YorkieTalk is all about. YorkieTalk has always ensured each and every participant in the Gift Exchange has gotten a gift, even when YorkieTalk has to pay for it ourselves.

YorkieTalk remains FREE for all members to post threads, share pictures, get help in emergency situations, ask questions, and even sell Yorkie-related products. We do not ask for any payment for any of that, we only ask members follow a few simple rules. We do understand that there are those that live paycheck to paycheck, which is why donations are completely voluntary. If a member feels they gain some benefit from YorkieTalk and want to donate, that is fine. If they don't want to donate, that is fine as well, they can continue to post and share as they have done.

We do have special perks for Donating Members, to show our appreciation in their support of our community. Without Donating Members, YorkieTalk simply could not exist, as there are many costs involved with maintaining and hosting a large community. The Donating Members actually help keep YorkieTalk a free resource for everyone. Without them, we would either be a membership-only site or no longer available, which is not our goal.

The Garage Sale forum remains limited to Donating Members because this was requested by members to sell non-Yorkie related goods, and since that particular forum has no particular relation at all with Yorkies, it remains for Donating Members only. The Featured Yorkie Products forum was requested by our numerous members who also own online stores.

People are being scammed on the 'for sale' forum too by these one post, sell my dog and run, people.

I agree. I don't think members should be able to come here and their first post be in the Yorkie For Sale section posting a litter or one pup or a grown yorkie for sale. I think there should be a post restriction for that.

We have not yet received any complaints of Yorkie sellers scamming any YorkieTalk members. We require a thorough form, which includes name, phone number, and address, which would help any law enforcement or proper authorities in helping find any scammers.
