Making a YT Calendar....2007
 

This is just a thought. Have you thought of doing a yt calendar. I think it would be wonderful. The profit from the calendars could go back to yt to help fund the website. Instead of One yorkie per month you could split the page into 4 photos. There would be 48 photos in all. People could submit there photos and either leave it the admin. to decide. or vote on them. The top 48 would get a spot on the calendar. or you could have 48 spots and sell them for $50.00 per spot. First come, first serve basis. So then you would earn even more of a profit. Have so many printed up and sell them. I'm sure most everyone on this site would buy one even if there yorkies dont make it in. This could be a huge profit for your yt website to help fund this. i think it'd be really neat. if you wanted there to be more pictures (small) you could do a dog for every day, i have seen those before.

I would like to try and get Roxie in too. Please keep us posted. Heck we could do more than 1 calendar. :D

Just an idea:
It substantially more than 48 people are intererested in this, how about having one page that's set up as a collage to make sure everyone who wants in and has a decent (in focus, minimum requirement) photograph can get in? Maybe even enlisit d4animal to work his magic on another Yorkie Men's Club-style page, with cutouts of the dogs placed in an empty room or something.

What about a page-per-day calendar. I have a yorkie page-per-day calendar now, but I am sure that the yorkies on YT are MUCH cuter than these yorkies in my calendar! I am certain that between all the people on YT that we can get together 365 great pictures of yorkies! I know I have hundreds of pics of my yorkies! Just a thought. That way, everyone could have a picture of their yorkie in the calendar. Plus, it would give you more yorkies to enjoy! One a day for a whole year!!!!!!!!!!! What more could you ask for?!

I have a page per day Yorkie calender too and I've thought the same thing, that I've seen much better pics on YT and not only that but then I would know the Yorkies! That would be awesome!! I'd definitely buy one, and of course I'd love to have Gypsy's picture on it, lolol. :)

I think a page per Yorkie would work great. We would be able to get many of our babies in this way. Let's see if we can get a committee of about 5-6 of us to start on this. Please count me in as 1 of the 6. Thanks.:thumbup:

Another great idea -- On the yorkie page-per-day calendar that I have now, there is a quote about dogs, a piece of advice about dogs, or a tidbit of information about dogs on every page. For example, today's page on the calendar I have now says, "The first formal dog show was held in Great Britain at Newcastle in 1859." On tomorrow's page on my calendar, it says, "Argos, the faithful dog of the Greek hero Odysseus, waited nearly 20 years for his master's return from Troy."

We could do something like that on each page and put advice that pertains specifically to yorkies like, "Yorkies tend to get collapsed tracheas, so be sure to use a harness instead of a collar." We could also put tidbits of information like "When yorkies were first bred, the average weight was 50 pounds" or something like that!

I have attached a picture of what a page of this calendar I have looks like. It is blurry, but you can get the general idea. The little sayings are in the bottom right-hand corner of the page. We could put a caption under each picture that says what the dog's name is, the owner's name, where the owner is from, and what the owner's screen name is on YT!

I agree...we need to have it completed by October or November, just in time for Christmas! The committe needs to be formed of people that can all contribute different things. For example, one person would need to be the "project manager" (Apprentice-style), one person would need to be "treasurer," we would need a graphic designer, one person in charge of logistics, etc. We would probably need to start a thread and take a poll of the people who would be interested in being on the committee and let them tell us what they could contribute, whether graphic design, etc. It might be good for the PM to also be in charge of filling the orders and disseminating the calendars. What do you think?

I just thought this was a great idea, but I'll leave the computer stuff up to you guys, I'm not very good at that, But I would like Parker and Maddie on it. Does administration have to approve it????
