Ok, throwing out an idea or suggestion here. A friend of ours "made" a calendar. She took muliple pictures of us and had them collaged on the top sheet. Some were definitely related to the month....Halloween shots in Oct, Pool/beach in June, etc. Important dates (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) were noted on specific days each month. She had Jasc software which included a calendar option. She printed ONE calendar and decided to have the rest professionaly printed because it took FOREVER to print one calendar. Any way having a full design already done decreased the cost of layout, etc. So maybe this idea could be a consideration? I thought a collage of yorkie pictures on each month would be easier than selecting ONE per month. Either way, I'd be interested. PS I love the school bus picture....definitely a September contender. :) |
Thank you for all the suggestions. We have put a Calendar Team together and are looking into the costs first. Then we will take submissions later on. We are planning to do a 12 month calendar, as a 365 day one would be an incredible amount of work and unfeasible at this time. |
I don't know how I missed the thread.. ah.. i was having too much attention on Haruka.. I guess.... I would love to have Haruka's pic on there too! Since there are so many folks here who would like to have their baby's pic on the calendar, a Silent Auction for each month would be great fun! Have a minimum to start the bidding and then..... |

I just love the collague idea, maybe one bigger pic in the middle and then a bunch of smaller ones all around it of yorkie owners here. Lord knows there are a ton of beautiful pictures here! Make one lovely 12 month calendar. I would absolutely buy one......I wouldnt bat an eye at a 25.00 calendar from here. It would be so unique and truly would be something I would keep. |
Here is another thought. Maybe it could also be an online calendar where it sits on your desktop and each day it automatically changes. I bet that would be alot cheaper and since we are always on our computers, what a delight it would be. Like I said, just another thought. ;) |
Thats a cool idea. I would really like to see a paper one though. I use my calendar like a brain, Im so busy most days it keeps me straight. So each time Im updating I could look at all the unique yorkies on the pages to bring a smile on my face. A calendar like this I would not throw away. It would be a keep sake. |
Would anyone else be willing to pay 25.00 for such a calendar from yorkietalk? Im not on the marketing team!..............LOL I just would really like to see it happen. |
The only thing about a silent auction is getting everyone here at about the same time and not everyone has money if the bidding gets really high. We need this to be fair for everyone and do the best we can to get as many possible pictures of everyone's baby. If we have to do 3 or 4 different calendars then atleast everyone will get their pictures in. There is so much insterest in the calendar that I don't think that anyone would have a problem if we ended up having more than 1 calendar. The collage idea is good too, kinda like a yearbook picture for each month. I would just hate to see someone get left out because they could not afford a bid that could and probably would get high or there was not enough room. Hugs, Donna :) |
I agree. I would hate for someone to not be able to get their babies in the calendar due to not being able to bid really high. Maybe a collage would be the best way to get everyone's dogs in it. Most people have more than one dog also. I would love to buy one as well as have my babies in it. |
