Step by step to Avatars! Can we have a thread that has step by step How To Make Avatars???? I have programs & books. But I still have no idea what I am doing. I know lots of wonderful members are willing to make them, But I would like to learn how. Thanks! :2hearts2: |
I would write instructions, but I have done it in the past and the person I wrote them for didn't understand them. |

Do you still have the instructions? I'd love to read them, I bought the book Master Visually for Photoshop elements 3 but it has everything but avatars. :( I have heard it takes a long time to learn, but I really do want to :) :) :) |
me too, me too!! I want one too. I cant get it the right size :( |
You're having trouble with the making the animated ones with photo shop, or with sizing and posting them? For using the animation part of photo shop. follow the instructions on how to make a banner. |
me too, me too, please !! |

When I taught myself 3 years ago...I did net searches for a week reading...but there are more help sites out there now. I have a FREE ULEAD gif animator I can email people - it is simple and will show you the basics...just pm me. It's really hard to type out directions...with so many programs out there ..many of the steps may not apply. |

The best way to get an Avatar sized picture is to CROP first...(delete most background) then size it to 75 x 75 pixels..... |
what program do you use? What's the best photo program to get to do stuff like this? I am interested in doing this and other stuff. When I go looking for the program there is so much to choose from. Any suggestions?? |

TeddyBear...there ARE lots of programs - the best is Photo Shop...but it takes lots of reading and patience to learn that program...when you get the basics it does get easier......I personally do mine in Photo Shop Elements 2....I'm too lazy to learn all the Photo shop stuff...and I find animations are easy for me in PS Elements This is a FREE download if anyone wants it....It's PSP 7 and I believe comes with Animation functions....Click THIS : Back by popular demand http://www.com-puterworks.com/Free_Downloads.htm (Where it says Paint Shop Pro 7 w/animation) |
I've used PSP7 for years, and LOVE it. Some folks I know have upgraded to 8 and 9, then are disapointed. I'm happy they've brought back this version for people to try. I'm also happy to help make avatars for anyone. Just ask! |
I use PhotoShop Elements and it's kind of easy to use. I tried the ULead animator and it wasn't hard to do. |
Me Tooooooooo..........!! :D I have been wanting to learn how to do the animated avatars for the longest time, since I joined here and seen alot of people with them. I just learned how to put one on here but unfortunately had to have a good person from here do the sizing for me. I have adobe photo shop on my computer is this what I can use? or is their another program of photoshop I need? Babe Girl * MOmmy Quote:

Someone gave me their old PS Elements. I "think" you may be able to get a free trial period for Elements. You'd have to google it. |

It's a link the was posted on here a while ago by someone that was making the avarts for everyone. I couldn't find the thread (must be too old) so I'll post it tomorrow if I remember... |

I have made a website with pictures of my husband and myself and a few of our favorite songs, sat for two days figuring it all out and yet I can't make an animated avitar  I have Paint Shop Pro 7 and Animation Shop 3 and still can't do it. |
I downloaded the site Villette shared with us all. |
Layering This gives me a head ache... geesh.. I can build a avator but layering forget it!! I end up wanting to throw my computer threw the window.. |
Here's the link... http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com...inkie_as.shtml This is the link I was talking about. It'll give you the basics on how to make an animated avatar. (aka blinkie). At the end to resize go to image: image size and then set the size for the specs in YT's avatar requirements. I hope this helps. |
1 Attachment(s) LOL I think I might have a little clue, The first one made me dizzy. You can click on it, but please don't get mad, I did warn you :) :) :) But I have been working on it! :D :D :D :D |
You're on the right track! I think we've all been there. Just slow it down a little bit! That brought back memories of mine about a month ago! |

LOL I have been working on it a very long time. Computers are just not for me. I can e-mail And YT but when it comes to other things I have to wait for our son to have time to show me, or learn on my own. I'll tell ya, after this LONG day, Grandma needs a nap! Good night all! Sweet Dreams :2hearts2: :2hearts2: :2hearts2: |
