| anyone knows the rules.. So I have a question.. Does anyone know the rules about asking for donations? I don't mean money but for let over fabric and ribbon to make things to donate to an organization? when Brandy was sick I had got lots of help and get wells for her. I was really in need of somethings for her when she got out of the vet and some Yorkie mommies here sent us the things we needed.. weather it was from their baby closet or made but lots of love was put into it for Brandy.. I may not be able to afford to donate money to help other pups in need but I want to donate things like bows and clothing that can be made out of left over fabric. I bought some ribbon and will be donating bows and scrunchies to YHR. If the rules let me ask for left overs whatever anyone has around I would also like to donate where I can... anyone I sent a Pm to the admin. but I guess waiting is making me antsy.. if anyone knows please get back to me. Thank you

| It could be just money that's a no no. Asking for scrap material doesn't seem like something that's against the rules. I hope Admin clears this up for you soon. I think you have a fantastic idea.

| Ok I got a response... this is what the admin said.. "You are welcome to give away things here on YorkieTalk if you would like. However, we believe asking for items or leftover fabric could cause problems in the future if everyone started doing that. Thank you." I understand where there coming from but I'm not really sure how it could be a problem.. I don't want money just thing to donate to resures.. I wonder if it is wrong to just ask once and see what the results would be.. I just made almost 40 hair clips to donate.. my mom thought is was a great idea that she offered to buy me 5 sets of barettes and to find all her scraps of material so we could start donating.. I can make anything from just about what ever I could get my hands on and I really would like to do the work because their are just to many pups in need..I want to start first with YHR and see how far I could go.. if any one wants to get into the mix let me know.. I'm sure their is nothing wrong trying..

| I so want to give back to pups in need because being in need is one of the hardest things. I know when I was for Brandy many doors and hearts opened for her. I was so blessed by YM that now that I can give back this is the only way I know how.. only thing is money is just right where it needs to be.. I don't like asking but I'm sure other mommy out their have things they don't use anymore and I could put into good use..I thought when I got to making things for pups that I would have wanted to keep them for Brandy only but the more I do it the more I so what to give them away.. funny right.

| I am on another non dog related web site where they have a swap shop, where people can post their needs or what they have to give away free (sometimes there is a charge for shipping). If there was a swap shop there could be several sections like bows, clothes, grooming supplies, etc. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | a swap shop is a section in our board that is open to members only and we can post what we are willing to swap and if another member wants it she can swap me for what I have and I get what she has is like an even trading, if she does not have anything to swap, then she will pay shipping for what I have. for example i just swaped a crochet dress for 2 skiens of yarn from another member.. is also a trust issue that the other person is going to send you what they promise, sometimes people don't follow thru and spoiled it for everyone... the one on my doll board mainly focus on doll parts and accessories.. hugs, |

Admin has to be careful about the rules that are set. We have had problems in the past with people not being honest. If they make an exception for you, then it opens the door to others that may want to scam people.
