Geez, I keep seeing a bunch of spammers in the Newbies area. I wonder if this is just one person? I also wonder why they are doing this? I did report one this morning because it was a Newbie with a link. I cannot imagine how annoying this must be for Admin.

Also, has anyone posting welcomes noticed how much slower it is to get tabs for each Newbie? (Much slower that a few weeks ago) I wonder if the slowness is due to some kind of filter that Admin put on to keep the spammers out?

I am not sure but I wonder if enough spamming can clog up the site using up bandwidth but am not sure how much spamming it would take to start having site problems.
And I would be suspicious that they could be trying to plant viruses, trojans whatever.

Yeah, we've had a few disgruntled x-members who seem like they'd try anything "to bring Yorkietalk down." :rolleyes:

Please report any members you may see that are spamming YorkieTalk. Usually they either put in links to their web sites in signatures or in their "home page" in their profile, or they post spam messages with links to their site. We usually catch it, but there are times that we may miss a post or message.

There is no way for them to post trojans or viruses DIRECTLY onto YorkieTalk, but for your own safety, do not click on the links that spammers post, as we can't guarantee what kind of stuff may be on the sites they are promoting.

You wanna hear weird.... I clicked on your link, it took me somewhere with an avatar and a message. I got as far as reading, "hey yorkie friends..." then it suddenly disappeared. HAHA!

If anyone notices any members that look to be computer generated could you please pm me their user-names and I'll take care of it. :)

Also, if you see anyone "spamming" let me know asap, even if its just a link in their user info.

In the last month, there appears to be tons of computer generated newbies. Not sure why. Almost all do not have links, but they all have their user name as their zip code. Hope that makes sense.

It does. I've been trying to ban them but it seems like they make 2 new user-names as soon as I ban one... darnit

Well I have been being harassed by someone for 3 yrs now, now this person has created 2 fake profiles on this site and I believe they are using it to keep up with what I do. Both fake profiles are said to be women from SC, both have fake stories made up, one about a sick dog and the other about a stolen dog. I can't even go to a site about dogs!!

The harassment has been not been here...not yet at least. This person has hijacked I don't know how many email accounts of mine, sent harassing text (from a computer), contacted friends of mine and told them BS stuff about me:mad: If I ever get my hands on this person........let's just say it won't be pretty!!!
