Well, I kind of think coming to read and post on YT is like going to someone's home. You certainly wouldn't go to a friend's (or acquaintance) house and start to argue with them about something they believed in (or argue with their other guests). Everyone should be able to state thier opinions and views in a civil manner without name calling or hurting someone's feelings. I know I am from the older generation and have some views that the younger generation does not agree with, but I try not to impose my thinking on them, and I expect the same curtesy in return. Most of the people here do not try to hurt other's feelings, but sometimes people take what is said wrong. It is hard to get your feeling across when typing and not in person. Things can be said in a post that can be mis-construed that would have been understood if they were said in person. I think, by and large, the rules make sense and the administrator does a great job in keeping things under control, and it IS his site, he can make the rules. I hope Admin keeps throwing his door open for us to come and visit (and learn). |
I think the whole site runs pretty well. I have no problem if I get bleeped or banned or whatever may happen...LOL. I really do agree that it is really the owners site and we are guests so while we can say pretty much what we want... it is up to the owner if he likes it or not. Just like if anybody started a web page or forum of their own , I'm sure that that person would want to feel in control. Darn if I wouldn't...LOLOLOL. Also the Donations are not required. I see it as a persons saying thanks for letting us on your site :) . I know it takes money to run such a large site properly without alot of tech problems. DANG...now I have to go donate after saying so much...LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL |

people being attached on this site. We all welcome you on this site and hope you stay and maybe you should watch alittle more who you listen to because they must have an ax to gind about something. I had a thread deleated once and I could have been upset but later when I thought about it, I was the one that was wrong. As you make more posts you will find you will find more and more friends and it is only human nature to make friends with a group you have alot in common with. Hope you stay around so you can see this is the most welcoming group I have ever seen. |

To: 4theloveofyorkie I'm from Ohio and was reading the other thread of yours and see you were having problems with your yorkie. Do you live in Hudson or near Hudson? As you can see I am in Stow and just a few minutes away and would be glad to help you. |
Joan, I think that's a wonderful idea. You are so sweet. ;) |
Thanks for changing the tone/mood of this thread -- was afraid THIS one was going to be locked too, at the rate it was going.... LOL Joan, that was very sweet of you to offer help as you did... my hat is off to you!! |
listening....learning...trrrrrrrrippin'.... |
Another very important point to remember is that admin, as the owner, has a great deal of potential liablity for what is posted and written. Even though when we register as a member we agree that what others say is their opinion only and we release admin of any liablity, if there is something said that is obviously defamatory and admin is advised of it and lets it remain then he could potentially be sued along with the person who actually said it. It is happening more and more on these forums as they become bigger and more popular. Admin needs tohave the freedom to delete or edit posts to limit his potential liability. He also has to make sure he treats everyone the same and there is no discrimination. He cannot bend the rules for one and not for another. This forum is a business and we all agreed to a contract when we registered. Admin promised if you follow the rules you can stay a member and you promised to follow the rules. I commend YT admin for implementing and enforcing rules to keep this a safe place without being overbearing or allowing a "free for all" where people get hurt. I have been on sites with NO rules and they are a disaster. There is a lot of name calling and libelous statements that hurt people a lot. It is bad. I think there is a happy medium between overbearing dictatorships and loosey goosy free for alls where any thing is allowed. |
 |

that is a LOT of responsibity. i appreciate the work put forth on here. in the meantime, i'll try and behave myself. |
yt rules SoCal, I'm sure you know but if someone else read only this thread it would not tell the entire story of why some were a bit upset with 4theluvofyorkies. She had a thread where she told us that she threw and that's the words she used THREW her new pup out in the backyard at night 40 degree so she could get some sleep and you think we should have just said nothing. IT'S THIS MEMBER YOU SHOULD BE SAYING THIS TO and it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that some are looking for a law suit................so sue me. |
For clarification...my post wasn't directed at any one member but rather to the thread topic in general and I would hope that no one is looking for a lawsuit. We all would hope to resolve our conflicts ourselves I am sure. |
I love this site, and I enjoy all the member's and their dog's. The people here have been very sweet, and patient with me even though I don't have a Yorkie yet. I have recieved great advice on to how, to buy a puppy, how to care for it, and if I need help, I know where to come. I think, the people at YT are like family that you picked, who share your interest. I will donate money when I can, because I want this site to be around for a long time. I look at group's, chat site's like this...We are invited guest, you don't want someone to come to your party piss on your guest, start a fight then leave and have the rest of the guest upset, and hurt... |
