Many of these mixed yorkies are rescues, and even if they're not, they should be able to read and learn just like all of the rest of us. |

When I come here I want to ESCAPE from reality - read good information and hear opinions - not see a bunch of rudeness - There is always tackfull ways to say things and we are all entitled to our opinions - but not entitled to hurt peoples feelings I'm sorry .....for someone who's barely posted lately (me) that was kind of preachy BUT - after being here so long I guess I felt it was ok to say. I really used to love this site. Not so much anymore |
I'm not sure in what context the OP meant to come off as. But if it's meant the way it sounds all I can say is that does sound very rude and offending to many if not all members here. :( |
First off, I would like to say that I'm a rather new user, and have never had any problems here, but can definitely see how they arise. I think that this is an EXTREMELY touchy subject since no matter what kind of dog you have, if you've made it to this site then you obviously love it. So when we criticize that dog for not being pure we're essentially attacking what alot of people see as their child. I think that thought should be used to test your threads before they're posted. How would you feel if someone insulted your child because his father is a different ethnicity, or religion? Or because that child is adopted? That's how many owners feel about their dogs and whats being said about them because its a Morkie, or a yorkie poo. That being said. 99% of the people here are here for support and because they are new to this. So shouldn't we give them that support? No matter what dog they have? I understand that puppymills are obviously wrong. I understand that alot of people feel strongly about trying to make the breed better vs. turning the breed into pseudo-yorkies. That doesn't excuse bad behavior, and honestly we as yorkie lovers may have been behaving badly recently. Just a thought. We love your dogs like kids. Respect that. |
I agree that everyone should chill and think before you hit the keys on the keyboard. Reread what you just typed and remember that alot of expression is lost in type. The old saying goes: If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all! |
designer I too thought this would be about designer clothing....i thought woohoo more shopping. And for whats my 2 cents is worth come one come all. Tis the season to be jolly after all. |

Wow, this thread was totally misunderstood. I did not mean that mixed breed owners should be banished to a their own section at all. Just that if their post is specifically about a mutt, it shouldn't be in the Yokie forum. I wouldn't post a thread about my Maltese in the Yorkie forum. I personally don't think a Yorkipoo is the same thing as a yokie, but that's JMHO. I actually thought that perhaps the mixed breed owners would like their own section. I find it funny that everyone sees that as a bad thing. I thought it would be a place for them to talk to eachother without it becoming an argument over whether they're a real bred or there are any reputable breeders producing them. |

No offense to the OP, but I think pushing crossbreeds into their own forum is a bad idea. If you feel strongly about crossbreeds and you see a thread pertaining to one, don't read it. Easy enough. |

I honor your choice to express your opinion, and I just picked your post out of the many I have read. But I wish that positive people like you would not threathen to leave or limit your posting on YT. Doing such only allows the negativity to take over. Let's all keep a cool head on here OK... and this reminds me so much of a good time to post a quote that is on the wall in Maya's vet's office. BE THE PERSON YOUR DOG THINKS YOU ARE |

If a thread is labeled anything other than something like "Are Morkies a real breed?" a response saying, "I don't think this dog belongs here, Morkies are just mutts," or "Do you know people breed designer dogs just for the money?" are both really rude responses. |

about a mutt That's not nice.....If you have a pure breed dog and say this about someone else's beloved pet it kind of grates on the sensibilities and makes YOU look like an elitist. Also certain subjects like potty traning, what food/treats are best. buying cute clothes....oh you name it... are universal to dogs period, yorkies have no monoploy on such subjects. |
