Why are the "designer dog" threads in this section? Okay, I may get a lot of flack(sp?) for posting this, but why don't the mixed breed threads get moved to the Yorkie Brothers and Sisters Section? Even if noboby can seem to agree on whether they're a new breed or mutts, I think we can all agree that they're not yorkies. Wasn't there some talk about giving them their own section? It just seems to me that it would cut down on some of arguments. |
You have a good point about keeping the arguments down. If they have their own section, people would have no need to go there if they had no interest, right?:) |
Exactly!!!! |

So, that's what this thread is about. I almost didn't read it, because I thought it pertained to designer clothes for Yorkies. I'm the result of too many speed reading courses. |
Rude I'm sorry but I really thought this was a friendly site.. But I guess I was mistaken:thumbdown I'm glad the most of the people here aren't as rude as the ones that posted this thread! I'll take my YORKIEPOO and go else where.... |

I dont think harley_chik meant anything rude either but i think some will think they are not wanted because they have mix breed. That should not be the case though. I think anybody should be welcome no matter what breed they have. |

Oh no... I really think this thread should be locked. We welcome ALL yorkies here at YT whether they be mixes or not. It is NOT their fault and many of them are rescues. Should we not be able to post about them because they aren't purebred yorkies? To all of you with mixed yorkies....the VAST majority of us welcome you. Please don't let this thread run you off. This is just plain wrong. :thumbdown |
This thread should go to "Site Suggestion" section. I don't come on YT lately as I used to. And this is the thread I am reading today. Personally, I like full breed. But I used to have mutt... Everyone has different likes. Even I like full breed I can come up so many reasons why people may prefer mixed breeds. So everyone should be able to have their likes and dislikes. Only challenges I see in this type of conversation is that we sometimes end up judgmental about others. YT always has been a friendly site. Wherever the mixed breed section goes, I hope we can respect each other. |

If we are talking about a mixed breed that doesn't have any yorkie in it, I could see suggesting that it be moved to the brothers & sisters forum because YORKIES is actually what this site is about, but if they are part yorkies like yorkiepoos or morkies or whatever then they should post in the yorkie forums... they are YORKIES after all. So since Smokey may not be all yorkie because he was a puppy mill baby that ended up in rescue, that means I can't post in the general yorkie section. Sorry, but my possible mixed breed yorkie is just as good as your full breed yorkie and I'll post wherever I please, thank you! And the only arguements over "mixed breeds" I've seen are about people purposely breeding mixed breeds and calling them "designer dogs", etc and a lot of the time the people posting are just coming on here to pull some legs... I have NEVER seen anyone start an arguement over just talking about an issue or a funny story or pictures of a mixed breed baby unless it has something to do with breeding them. |

Many of these mixed yorkies are rescues, and even if they're not, they should be able to read and learn just like all of the rest of us. |

When I come here I want to ESCAPE from reality - read good information and hear opinions - not see a bunch of rudeness - There is always tackfull ways to say things and we are all entitled to our opinions - but not entitled to hurt peoples feelings I'm sorry .....for someone who's barely posted lately (me) that was kind of preachy BUT - after being here so long I guess I felt it was ok to say. I really used to love this site. Not so much anymore |
I'm not sure in what context the OP meant to come off as. But if it's meant the way it sounds all I can say is that does sound very rude and offending to many if not all members here. :( |
First off, I would like to say that I'm a rather new user, and have never had any problems here, but can definitely see how they arise. I think that this is an EXTREMELY touchy subject since no matter what kind of dog you have, if you've made it to this site then you obviously love it. So when we criticize that dog for not being pure we're essentially attacking what alot of people see as their child. I think that thought should be used to test your threads before they're posted. How would you feel if someone insulted your child because his father is a different ethnicity, or religion? Or because that child is adopted? That's how many owners feel about their dogs and whats being said about them because its a Morkie, or a yorkie poo. That being said. 99% of the people here are here for support and because they are new to this. So shouldn't we give them that support? No matter what dog they have? I understand that puppymills are obviously wrong. I understand that alot of people feel strongly about trying to make the breed better vs. turning the breed into pseudo-yorkies. That doesn't excuse bad behavior, and honestly we as yorkie lovers may have been behaving badly recently. Just a thought. We love your dogs like kids. Respect that. |
I agree that everyone should chill and think before you hit the keys on the keyboard. Reread what you just typed and remember that alot of expression is lost in type. The old saying goes: If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all! |
designer I too thought this would be about designer clothing....i thought woohoo more shopping. And for whats my 2 cents is worth come one come all. Tis the season to be jolly after all. |

Wow, this thread was totally misunderstood. I did not mean that mixed breed owners should be banished to a their own section at all. Just that if their post is specifically about a mutt, it shouldn't be in the Yokie forum. I wouldn't post a thread about my Maltese in the Yorkie forum. I personally don't think a Yorkipoo is the same thing as a yokie, but that's JMHO. I actually thought that perhaps the mixed breed owners would like their own section. I find it funny that everyone sees that as a bad thing. I thought it would be a place for them to talk to eachother without it becoming an argument over whether they're a real bred or there are any reputable breeders producing them. |

No offense to the OP, but I think pushing crossbreeds into their own forum is a bad idea. If you feel strongly about crossbreeds and you see a thread pertaining to one, don't read it. Easy enough. |

I honor your choice to express your opinion, and I just picked your post out of the many I have read. But I wish that positive people like you would not threathen to leave or limit your posting on YT. Doing such only allows the negativity to take over. Let's all keep a cool head on here OK... and this reminds me so much of a good time to post a quote that is on the wall in Maya's vet's office. BE THE PERSON YOUR DOG THINKS YOU ARE |

If a thread is labeled anything other than something like "Are Morkies a real breed?" a response saying, "I don't think this dog belongs here, Morkies are just mutts," or "Do you know people breed designer dogs just for the money?" are both really rude responses. |

about a mutt That's not nice.....If you have a pure breed dog and say this about someone else's beloved pet it kind of grates on the sensibilities and makes YOU look like an elitist. Also certain subjects like potty traning, what food/treats are best. buying cute clothes....oh you name it... are universal to dogs period, yorkies have no monoploy on such subjects. |
