I would like to read it but I don't give my address out because all you wind up with is junk mail. |
I am sorry to hear about your Yorkie. Please run a bile acid test on him. |
I feel so bad for all of you. It does sound like the Tylenol. Hopefully Charlie will get better. I would certainly send that article, which I could not view, to the vet's office. Prayer's coming that he will recover. |
Archie, I got tired of the junk mail too. I just use an email address separate from my private one so anyone can send me all the junk they want and I don't have to read it...:p |
I am so sorry to hear about your furbaby. It does sound like it was the tylenol. I pray that he has a safe and speedy full recovery. |
Oh, I'm so sorry to read this...I hope Charlie has a speedy recovery. This is just so sad and scary. Please keep us updated and know that you are in the hearts and prayers of many here. |
Any update on this little fella? |
Charlie is in good sprits, no voluntary movement of the legs, but he can move his head and neck. He is eating well and responds to questions. This little guy could jump and run laps around the house like there was no tomorrow. I don’t know how he did it but he would always give the family a 30 second warning before anyone came to the door, but now he just lays there. We are lucky to have a family member that watches him during the day while my wife and I are at work. He gets exercised 3 times a day and I am continuing to give him steroid shots every other day. I have contacted a veterinary hospital school but have gotten no response. I may need to get a local vet to refer me, I’m not sure. Its getting close to 4 weeks since this happened, just when we are starting to loose hope he will show some signs of progress. I do know this when he does recover he’s going be one Spoiled fella! |
Im so sorry this has happened to your baby, I have never heard of giving a dog Tylenol before and if your vet told you to do that then I would call as many vets and ask them about it, If Tylenol caused this to happen to your baby I would make that vet pay all vet bills and then some. I have a friend that had this happen to them but it was from flea meds, many weeks went by before their Yorkie was able to walk again. Prayers for your baby to get back to normal. |
A member he makes walker slings to assit him with walking. It might help him. The Sling Walker helps our little fur babies to get around better after an injury or surgery of their legs. Here web site is pocomutt.com |
update We have been working with Charlie 24/7 and it is starting to pay off, today he walked about 30 Ft. in our back yard. He still looses his balance and fall down allot but he seems to be improving slowly. He sometimes gets up by himself. I just wish we knew what happened to him because now we don’t know what to expect. |
Way to go daddie! Glad you are not going to give up. Sounds like Charlie is really loved and taken care of. Keep up with the exercises it will help out alot. If you recall there was a dog Tahoe with a broken neck or back that was paralyzed. The owners keep at it and he is getting a lot better. Here is a video of Tahoe on youtube. Prepare for tears, its really sad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbirkF-ca04&NR=1 |
Sorry I thought Tahoe broke his neck or back, but actually he had a stroke. |
Sending healing thoughts for Charlie. Warmly, Deborah |
