He said to watch out if she starts to drag her back leg/legs or unable to go potty. I am so thankful that it is nothing worse. It is going to be hard to keep her and Bentley apart for 2 weeks though. | You also need to test for paralysis for the next two weeks. If her spinal injury gets worse, then she can become paralyzed. If this happens, the paralysis is usually temporary IF you catch it in time. Most vets do not tell you how to use a paper clip to test for paralysis but it is the most reliable method I have found. Take a paper clip and straighten it out. Gently press one end to the pads of each back foot. She should respond, if she does not, then you must get her to a vet ASAP. Do this several times a day. I'm surprised that your vet did not recommend crating her for the next two weeks, in order to help prevent further damage to her spinal cord. You might want to consider it. You can never be too careful when it comes to spinal injuries.
I hope she feels better soon! |
