Yes, the headlock has been quite effective. Who knew 7 pounds could be so strong? You know what else had me giggling and this is really what makes me a bad mom. When the vet put the dye in Simon's eyes and turned off the lights and used the special lamp he looked like the cutest little alien ever. His eyes were glowing a bright green and I couldn't stop giggling, the vet told me to behave (haha). I've been calling him my sweet alien baby all afternoon :) I just did round 3 and he was better. Of course the turkey hot dogs helped a bit too~ |

aaawww...poor simon:( He's probably thinking that he deserves some TLC because of his eye but instead, he has a crazy momma fighting with him to put drops into his eyes :p Hope he feels better soon! |
Did you try the towel? Im tellling you it works,It's one of V's old tricks. |
Poor baby! You got him to the vet before it became serious even though you thought it wasn't very serious. That...in my opinion, makes you a GREAT mom! Plus...the whole eye drop resistance campaign he's putting on...you should be the yorkie mom of the year!! :D |
I hope you feel better Simon!!! |
Poor Simon...Sadie send him love. (and don't feel bad...we all would have thought the same thing about allergies) |
Poor little Simon! I sure hope you get better quickly and please let mommy put the drops in your eye without hurting her! PS....Hope the towel helps....I have tried this with Captain & Sailor when trying to cut their nails.....it does help to hold them tighter and not get scratched as much, but mine still win more times than me! |

Ok I've done this 7 times now and Simon's still winning. I couldn't hold the towel and get to his eye with only 2 hands. I thought perhaps he wouldn't struggle as much after he went to sleep but he got MAD AT ME!!!! And poor Hallie just stares at Simon like she doesn't really know what is going on :( So now we are off to bed and I will set my alarm every hour (like I'm gonna be able sleep). I haven't heard if I will get to take tomorrow off after I teach my 8am class (I sure hope so). Thanks again for all the well wishes and making me like a good mom. I just really wish I knew how it happened and now I'm really going to have to get Simon some doggles to protect his big brown eyes!!! |
oh no :( i just saw this poor simon. hope he gets better soon. misty and me will be sending prayers and hugs and kisses:getwellso :getwell: |

that got to me too :p I hope Simon feels better, poor lil guy! |
So sorry to read that Simon has eye problems. Mike's idea of putting the drops in while he is sleeping or resting might work so he is relaxed. Do you think the drops burn ie alcohol? I had to give Charlie oral Ivermectin every day for two months and it is so bitter. He would run away, literally go "agh" after the dose, and I would give him a treat immediately. Simon sounds very strong, and it is too bad that you have to hold him down. I know that makes you feel sad when he resists. Warmly, Deborah |
I am sorry to hear Simon has an eye infection. I used to put cheerios on the counter and let Bailey eat those while putting drops in her eyes. I wash her eyes out everyday now with saline drops and she doesn't even care and she knows she will get a treat afterwards. Bailey has allergies..go figure.. |
Simon Samuel! You better stop fighting your Mom. She knows what's best for you. |
Simon finally stopped fighting the drops at 3am this morning :) He wasn't too happy that I had to wake him up every hour but he's been much better today. I gave him a drop at 7am, went to teach my class, and got home at 10 and gave him another. I'm off the rest of the day (YAY) and have to give him the ointment that numbs his eye this afternoon. It's supposed to taste bitter so we'll see how that goes. Right now he's pulling pillows and blankets across the living room floor to get the ball he "hid" under them :) At least he is feeling ok and doesn't seem to be in any pain. Well except Mama Pain from me waking him up and putting those drops in :) |
Annie is sending Simon a great big  Simon be nice to your mommy today she hasn't had any sleep. |
Poor Simon , tell him i have allot of sympathy, i had shots yesterday into my eye , due to Macular Degeneration and an experimantal drug, look like somebody gave me a shiner and having to put drops in 4 times a day... tell him i will think of him everytime i put mine in. Give him lots okf kisses for me ! Hope he feels better soon ! |
I'm so sorry to hear about Simon's eye! Sounds like you're being a wonderful Nurse Mommy! |
oh poor Simon! I hope the medication helps and he gets well soon. Don't feel bad, that can happen to anyone! |
You definitely get the Yorkie parent award of the week. I can't believe you got up every hour all night. Fortunately, today's the last day! Good luck. Then take a nap. |
Oh NO!! poor Simon! Give him lots of kisses from Peeka and Daisy! |
Ok Mr. Man has learned that drops = hot dog :) I put the ointment in about an hour ago and he started drinking a ton of water and drooling which the vet told me to expect from the bitterness. Now that it's been 24 hours I can move to putting the drops in every 3-4 hours! |
Simon is too smart! I've had to trick Lucy and Rebel the same way to give them meds. They'll eat anything if it's hidden in a hot dog:D |

Well I hope your lil monkey gets all better soon! drops=hotdog that didnt take him long :) |
awwwww, I am so sorry Simon... get better fast little buddy! d |
Poor Simon! :( I know those are nasty and painful when they are on human eyes...I can't imagine it would be fun for him either. And NO, you are not a bad Mommy! You are taking care of him...and coming home to make sure he gets his meds. I hope he and his eye have a speedy recovery. :getwellso |
Thinking about you and Simon...wish him well real soon. |
