Puppy not pooping? Hi all, I've been lurking here for the past month or so researching and reading as much as I can about my baby before I brought her home. Well, I finally baby Bitsy home today. She will be 9 weeks old tomorrow. Right after picking her up, I brought her straight to the vet for a check up and her first set of shots. When I finally got home and took her out of her carrier, she peed on me (about 4 and a half hours ago). I've feed her some wet puppy food (Merricks Puppy plate) about 3 hours ago and half an hour ago, I feed her some dry puppy food (Iams Puppy - what she was feed before, although I will be switching her to Innova Puppy). I've also given her some Nutrical just in case. My question is: She hasn't peed a second time and she hasn't pooped at all! I've put her in her crate and taken her out every hour and nothing. Right now I have her in the bathroom with a gate up. I have her crate there with the door open and a pee pad. I have sprayed the pee pad with the pee training spray. Is it ok that she hasn't peed in so long and not pooped at all? Sorry for being such a worry wart, but she's my first puppy.

first off.. WELCOME AND CONGRATS!! (and hey you live so close to us!!!)- i am in London! second.. i don't think Layla pooped the whole first day we got her... we had to drive 9 hours to southern ohio to pick her up and 9 hours back and she never pooped.... so not to worry... lots of stress on such a tiny body... she will probably poop later tomorrow/today. but sounds like you are doing everything right (including changint her to a GREAT food) keep in mind when you do this her poops will be very soft... her body is busy cleaningo ut the old stuff which isn't the best quality. Can we see pictures??? does she have a name???

| I wouldn't worry to much, and congratulations. I'm sure you'll be writing us soon saying she never stops pooing and peeing.

She pooped! Thanks for the replies guys! And you're right, I worried too much! She pooped twice this morning, so I am very relieved (and I bet she is too, lol) Her name is Bitsy and she's actually a Yorkie/Maltese mix. I'm going to download her pics now! Thanks again!

Thanks guys! I thought I posted an update, but I don't know what happened to it... Everything is good now. Bitsy pooped twice this morning! I worried for nothing, lol. And hello Marcerella! It's nice seeing fellow Canadians, eh. I posted some pics of Bitsy in the Yorkie Pictures section.
