where in the uk are you? if you are getting housing benefit or council tax benefit you can take your dog to the pdsa for free treatment or the celia hammond trust will give you reduced treatment if you are on a low income and the rspca. your dog sounds a lot like zac was after he eat plastic, you said they had eaten plastic didnt you? zac damaged his liver too but after just having chicken and rice for a few months his liver was back to normal. so fingers crossed your little one will do the same. |
there is also a site i help out on called www.alfieslostterriers.com and they have a vet on there who you could ask advice to for free, hes very good. |
Happy Birthday Moe!!! I hope you get better real fast. |

Happy Birthday Moe!! Hope you are feeling better!!! |
I'd read this post, signed off, to go take a bath, when my "brainstorm hit". So logged back on. If it was poision....and you know nothing is within reach, or used in the yard, is it possible you might have a bush, or tree, or plant thats poisonous in your yard. I know somewhere on this board is a stickie, with poisonous plants. Some can be deadly for animals too. All they have to do, is chew up on a dead leaf on one that fell, or a flower to get poisoned. I know elephant ears are one, and Orleander is another. There are plenty more out there. Those 2 just came to mind. Thats the only other thing that came to my mind on poisons, that don't come in a can or jar. Ok, now its my bath time, lol. |
Thanks everyone! Moe went to the vets again today...they re tested his liver, its still high, yet lower than before..so thats progress I suppose. He is also walking a bit, though not for long before he falls over.He trys to potty like a boy and unfortuately , lifting his leg throws him off balance and he falls down....so back to girly peeing. The vet says its deffinately a neurto toxin of some sort, most likely low dose rat poison, wether via second hand exposure from a dead rat or decay that leached intot he ground, as we have had tons of rain here. So it will be 3 weeks before we know whats permanent and whats not..fingers crossed he isnt left with too much damage! |
