Mucussy Stool (sq*) Holly got spayed and had teeth pulled on Tuesday. Because her mouth was sore, I switched her from sometimes mixed wet and kibbled Canidae to just wet since she couldn't chew the kibble. She has eaten this since Tuesday night. The only other thing she's eaten is yogurt drop to disguise the pain meds. This morning her stool was a little softer, and right at the end. it got a little mucussy. Like phlem almost. It was clear by the way. Should I worry? Or do you think it was the change in foods to just wet? HELP! |
when they get an upset tummy sometimes this happens. i think she is fine. |
Thanks so much. I will monitor it. I am hoping it doesn't get worse. I was just going over the post-op papers to see if I found anything. Thanks again. |
I think she would be fine Laura . . . just monitor it :) to make sure it does no go for more than a day or so :) Tiger and Annika is sending wet kisses :aimeeyork |
I remember reading that if it is mucous at the "end" of the poo - it's their anal glands emptying. If it mucous around the whole poo, then it's something from their GI tract. Do I have that correct? |

I'd think it was a change in the food, but if it gets real bad could you add some white rice to firm up her stool? |

HOlly Gosh...isn't it aweful when you KNOW something isn't right but you don't know what? I sure hope it's not an infection or bacteria or anything. Let me know tomorrow what the vet says. I would take a stool sample with you just to be on the safe side. |
