A Bit Scared For My Holly I had been concerned about Holly because I felt she had been in heat for too long. She has been bleeding for 5 weeks now. I feared that she had an infection on some sort and I admit it, I panicked. I called the vet and they scheduled me first thing this morning. Well it turns out that Holly will continue to bleed because her Ovum (?) is stuck. Something like a Cystic Ovary or something. I have the name but I left the paper in my car and the hubby's got it. Well she needs to be spayed ASAP. She's going in Tuesday. I am a little nervous. I'm not really the type to get over the top freaked out, but I have to admit that it makes me a little sick to my stomach. Although I planned to spay her anyways, this just caught me off guard. I didn't expect it this soon. What should I expect? |
Oh no! Is she hurting? I didn't know that could happen. My prayers and positive thoughts going your way. It sounds like your vet is on top of it though and you're getting her in for the surgery quickly. I'm sure she's going to be okay, but I understand your concerns. I would be upset and worried as well. Hugs! |

I'm sure you were upset and worried about her and didn't get to ask all of your questions. I would probably sit down and write out all of my questions. Then, I would call the vet on Monday and ask for someone to call you back...maybe the nurse or vet tech? Have them answer as many questions as they can for you and then ask the vet to call when he/she gets a chance and answer the others. But, I'm a worry wart! lol Bless her heart! |
Oh no!! I hope everything is okay with Holly...Please keep us updated! That sounds scary, but I'm sure she'll be okay :) Send her hugs from the furbabies!! |
Wow, my positive thoughts and prayers are with you and Holly. I am sure that she will be fine. |
Ah... poor Holly & you. :( I will say a prayer that Holly's spaying on Tuesday goes well for her & you. :hands: |
She should do fine. Cali was spayed while in heat because of a possible obstruction and she did fine. She was very sleepy for a few days but that is good for them to rest. I will pray for a safe surgery |
Aawww poor Holly. How big is hse? What does the vet say about the length of the heat? I have never heard of this before and am interested in what is causing it. Good Luck on her surgery. She is in our thoughts and prayers! |
Awe, she will do just fine. She will be back before you know. A lot of people say their babies come back really lethargic but none my other two girls were. I guess it really just depends on the individual pup, type of anesthesia and pain med. You would never know they got fixed as I had to make them calm down. Just make sure she leaves her stitches alone. |
Oh no! Praying for Holly here! London just went into heat, I hope it doesn't last long. I'm taking her to the vet anyway to schedule her spay. I hope all goes well with Holly! |

Awww girl, I know you are worried about Holly. I was just so glad to hear earlier when you took her that it WASN'T an infection or anything. I am going to be a nervous wreck too when Tatum goes in to get spayed (although I AM the type that gets over the top freaked out) LOL - so I totally know how you feel girl :( We are sending Holly BIG HUGS! |
I'm sure everything will go well on Tuesday.....she'll be up and around before you know it! |
I will be thinking of Holly on Tuesday and wish for her to have an easy/uneventful surgery with a quick recovery. |
I'm so sorry I 'm just seeing this now. I'm keeping Holly in my prayers. I'm sure everything will go just fine on Tuesday. Kisses to your baby girl. ;) |

Chloe had her surgery last month and I was a wreck. I'm such a paranoid freak when it comes to her, it was so hard to sit there. Here's my thread from that day, everyone posted really supportive posts...go check them out, I'm sure they'll help you, too! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...highlight=spay BIG hugs to you & Holly. We'll be thinking about ya'll. I know everything will be okay, but trust me! I know how hard it is to believe when everyone's telling you it'll be okay and you're just worried about your baby. Chloe was okay! When we went to pick her up at the vet, as soon as we walked through the door she heard me say "Hi" to the receptionist & went crazy. The vet nurse had said she had been sleeping & quiet until she heard me & Daddy. When they brought her out to me she was going crazy, then she just snuggled right up to my neck & slept all day & all night & pretty much the whole next day. She seemed to be in a lot of pain (even with pain meds) for about 5 days. Then we had a hard time keeping her still. Good luck staying calm, girl! |
How old is Holly? I'm glad you have an awesome vet who's taking such good care of your baby. She'll be a little tired, but she'll be ok. |
