Sweetums | 07-20-2007 07:26 PM | I heard a Yorkie with a collapsed trachea for the first time a couple of weeks ago at a Meetup. It sounded very much like a snorting pig. The owner told us that he does it whenever he walks too fast, too far, or runs. We were at a dog park, and walked to the far end of it to the Yorkie meet. The poor thing sounded terrible, but it didn't seem to bother him. The owner said it went away if she could get him to calm down and rest a little.
Btw, our neighbor has a toy poodle and he says that it was after their dog had her first intubation that she started to cough whenever she breathes too hard. Intubation can damage their tracheas. |
