POor Tatum!:( I hope she gets well soon. Did she eat anything so far?:( |
Poor little Tatum! She sure has had a rough time lately.:( I hope that she is feeling better and able to eat very soon!! I will keep her in my prayers. |
Any news on Tatum today??? Is she eating anything yet? Sometimes the baby food will work...just scoop it up with your finger and put it inside her mouth. Let us know what is going on with her today. GET WELL SOON LITTLE TATUM! :getwell: |
It must be awful to see your sweet precious little girl not happy.. Im thinking of the little angel now and sending love. Kerry xxx |
Brooke, I just saw this! How is Tate Tate today?? I so know what you mean about your little one giving you so many scares!! Same with me and Gemma!! Its one thing after another with her!! One of Gemma's problems is she does not eat well, suddenly. So I am getting her number down though :p I know these are 2 different reasons that Tatum is not eating and Gemma too, but I HIGHLY recommend you try what I'm doing.....if you'd like to ;) There is a recipe on here that others have used to put on weight and to get their babies some nutrition. I would have to go find it if you want to try it, but it is basically 1/2 c half and half (I use Goats milk), 1/2 c gerber baby rice cereal, karo sryrup (1tbs?), and a jar of chicken baby food too. I syringe this into Gemma a few times a day and find that she is A) keeping a full tummy, and B) sleeping all night with no vomiting or hungar pains!! I also have A/D dog food, and I sort of "make" her lick a few scoops off my fingers, usually right after I syringe the baby food to her. This way, she gets some "food" in her tummy and some karo syrup that they need, as we know. Gemma hates to see the syringe, but you know what? Its keeping her heathy and I've had NO problems with her sinch I started doing this! I hope your little angel starts to feel better soon :getwell: Let me know if you want me to double check that recipe! Hugs to you - I swear, I know how you feel!! Trina |
Quick Update Hey everyone, I haven't even had time to sit down and read through everyones replies, but I just wanted to stop in to do a quick update on little Tate. As you all know yesterday she wasn't doing too well as she didn't eat hardly anything. I FINALLY got her to eat a little bit of cottage cheese last night before we went to bed, but not much. This morning when we woke up, it seemed like she was feeling a little better, and then a few hours later she threw up some, I'm thinking it is because she just isn't getting enough food. SO, today I decided that I HAD to start syringe feeding her. I did and she accepted quite a bit of it and then ate a little more cottage cheese on her own (right now she seems to be eating the cottage cheese more than anything else). Then, just a little while ago, she went and ate a *few* pieces of hard dog food on her own whenever she saw Stedman eating. It made me feel SO GOOD to see her eating on her own - and HARD FOOD at that! However, she still isn't 100% better, and she's still not eating like she should be, but she doesn't seem to be in quite as much pain. I will continue to try and get her to eat on her own and if she doesn't, I will continue to syringe feed her. If she doesn't do a 360 by Monday (which at this point I am kind of doubting) then I will definitely be taking her back to the vet. I have got to run to the store to get some more cottage cheese for her as I am out, and that seems to be the MAIN thing shes interested in right now....so whatever she wants to eat is fine with me. Just ANYTHING to get some food in her stomach and keep her strength up. I will keep everyone updated! Also, thank you ALL for your replies - even though I didn't get to read through them yet I know you are all keeping her in your thoughts and praying for her - we appreciate it SO MUCH! |
Glad to hear this update!! I hope she keeps getting better and better!! And good thing she is really starting to eat, even if it's just a little...Is she drinking water at least? |
Special prayers on Tatum's way for a speedy recovery . |
I hope your little one feels 100% better soon. Take care. |
I just now saw this thread and feel so bad for both you and Tatum. It is so hard to see these babies suffering or in pain. I'll be praying for your precious baby and hope she is back to herself in no time. I've not heard of a dog having a hard time cutting teeth, but I suppose that is because of her tiny size? Kisses and get well wishes from Maddie, Libby and I! |
Another update Hey guys...here is another update. And please excuse my typing if there is alot of typos, I am physically exhausted. Tatum is still not doing well and she threw up three times this morning. Her stomach is growling so loudly that I can hear it from across the room. She was eating on her own pretty good a few days ago but I am now having to syringe feed her chicken baby food. I also had to give her pepto this morning and that took about 20 minutes because she hated it. Her ears are still completely flopped down and I know she just doesn't feel well, it's so obvious. I think she is throwing up because she isn't getting enough food and it is making her sick to her stomach. She is throwing up nothing but white bubbly foam, which is another reason why I know it is because of a lack of food. You guys, I cannot tellyou how tired I am. Last night I did not sleep because I was up with her all night long. She wakes up in the middle of the night and cries to get off the bed to go potty which she never does. She has been peeing alot (often). Last night I just decided to sleep on the couch (although...I didn't even sleep) so that she could get down on her own (she can't do that when shes on the bed) and I put puppy pads down in the house as it has been pouring here and she can't go outside to potty. I seriously don't know how I am even sitting here typgin this. My eyes feel so heavy and I am just so worn out. My husband has been out of town for 2 days for work so I have had no help and to top it all off my monthly visitor came last night (sorry, don't mean to give out to much info) so that makes me feel even worse. I am taking her back to the vet tomorrow as I just cannot do this anymore. I have no energy too and if I am feeling this way, I can only imagine how she must be feeling. This isn't right and something needs to be done to help her. And I tell you what, those vets better do something else besides open up her mouth and look inside and tell me again that she has adult teeth coming in, because I already know that. I am not going to pay more money for them to tell me that again. And I hope I don't sound rude tomorrow, but at this point I honestly don't even care. I am going to tell the people at the front desk that I want our regular vet to see her, not that new guy. I don't know him from adam and my vet KNOWS Tatum, and I want HIM. Hope I don't hurt the other guys feelings but if I do, oh well. I want complete blood work done on her and I want to know WHAT IS GOING ON. I am sick of this and so is she. It is dragging us both down and neither of us can take it anymore. If there is another underlying problem, they better find it. My husband is going with me as I probably won't even have the strength to be as persistent as I want to be. Anyway, I apologize again for not being able to respond to everyones replies...I just honestly and truthfully don't have the energy right now. I can barely keep my eyes open, just so exhausted. Thank you guys for all of your thoughts and prayers and I will be sure to keep you all updated. |
I'm so sorry to hear that Tatum still isn't doing well...You sound absolutely exhausted, and you need your rest. Those vets better be giving you some answers tomorrow!! Seriously, poor Tatum and poor you!! Please continue to keep us updated. I'm praying for both of you! |
I just now read this for the first time. I am so worried for Tatum. She is too small for all these problems to be going on and on. I know that you are at your wit's end. Hopefully, your husband can force the issue and get some results tomorrow. I am praying for that sweet baby. |
So sorry to hear that Tatum is still so unwell. Poor her and poor YOU! hope you can get some much needed rest. Definitely jump on those vets and make them give you some answers. You both need to know what's going on and what you can do to resolve it. Thoughts and prayers continue. |
Aw, I'm so sorry Tatum isn't getting any better. I hope your vet can help you tomorrow so both of you can get better! Poor You and poor Tatum! Tink sends kisses! |
Please keep us updated on Tatum..... I really hope that the vet can give her what she needs to recover. Poor little gal.... give her a hug from us! |
Oh Tatum, we hope you feel better soon. We all just hate it when you don't feel well. Big hugs and lots of positive thoughts coming your way~ |
poor tatum!! Poor Tatum and Brooke...i am just now finding this thread about you guys. I am sooooooooo sorry to hear that Tatum isn't feeling well. Did you get a vet appointment this morning?? I hope you will keep us posted on her. When my girls get the tummy growls, i put a blob of peanut butter in the roof of their mouth forcing them to lick, lick, lick. that will usually get their hunger juices calmed enough for them to eat something on their own. Instictively, if they get the growls, they think they are sick and won't eat. It's a vicious circle. the pepto is good but boy do they HATE IT. I have a script from the vet of a doggie "pepto" that i keep in the frig. it tastes better and calms down their intestines and growls. It is called K-pectin oral. they get 1-2cc. you might ask the vet for some of that to keep on hand for your babies. Please keep us posted on little Tatum. I hope you were able to get some sleep last night too. HUGS! XOXOXO |
awww im sorry but they may all be able to be pushed out. skoshi had one baby tooth left i think lol and it became double since it wouldnt fall out and his adult tooth started growing behind it. and finally over the weekend the adult tooth pushed it out. |
:getwellso :hands: :hands: :angel2dl: :big_hug: :getwell: Aaaww I hope Tatum gets well soon! Me, Tinker, and Cash are sending her lots of love and hugs... |
Awww poor little Tatum, how is she doing today?? |
I have been gone for a few days only to find more bad news about little Tate :( OH I do hope she gets better soon and will be back to her normal perky self. I will continue to pray for her . . . it sure must be so hard for you Brooke being so helpless about it since she is just sooo very tiny. My babies are sending warm warm and definitely LOVING kisses to little Tate :( |
I'm curious as to how Tatum is today....Poor baby :( |
I keep coming back to check on this. I am so nervous about it. Sending more prayers to Tatum. XO |
The Final Update....Thank GOODNESS! Hey everyone! So sorry that it has been a few days since I last popped in to update you all. Right after the last update I made, I myself got sick and didn't get online for a few days, so was not able to update you all until now. WHEW - what a scare I had with Tatum! :( In the last post I made a few days ago, I was at my wits end. However, I have GOOD news! :cheer: Tate is now back to her normal self again (THANK GOD!) and all is well with her. Surprisingly, I didn't even have to take her back to the vet as the very next day after my last post to you all, she perked up, started eating her dry food, and started running through the house acting completely normal like her crazy, feisty little self! :D We don't know if maybe she ended up losing a tooth that was bothering her or what, but she is completely back to normal again! Boy, this little girl really does know how to scare her mommy and daddy, thats for sure!!!!! Her ears are however still a little floppy, so my husband MADE me shave the tips as he didn't want them to stay down for the rest of her life (we didn't know if they were still down due to her not feeling well a few days ago, or because the hair had grown quite a bit) so, we shaved the tips last night and they are a little higher up than they were a few days ago, but still not 100% back up yet. We'll see what happens. If they aren't higher up than they are right now in a few days, we just may shave them down completely until they stand again  Which I DO NOT want to do because it took what seems like FOREVER for the hair on her ears to get to the length it is now, and I just love that "butterfly ear" look :p Hubby thinks though that maybe because of her size, when there is so much hair on her little ears, after a while...they just start flopping :( So we'll see what happens with that - hopefully we won't have to shave them though again after shaving the tips of them this time. Anyway, I just wanted to give you all an update and say THANK YOU so much for all of the kind words, prayers, and PM's. It is going to take me a while to get back to everyone's PM's - but I will do it as time permits :) Steddy, Tate, and myself send you all a great big hug and Tate says to tell everyone THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of their support and prayers - IT WORKED!!! :ghug: |
YAY! So glad Tatum is back to her normal little self. They sure DO know how to put the fright into us.:D |

ah . . .finally good news    On the ears though, perhaps there is a connection between her losing her tooth and her ears as it happened to Annika when she went in for tooth extraction. She scared the hell out of me with her ears both down  A few commented it might be the hair but I know my girl, no matter how much hair she's got on her ears, they have withstood its weight until the surgery. So, although little T did not get surgery, somehow I feel it is the tooth that's causing it to droop or flop. It should go back up eventually, just as it did on Annika's case  Hope this experience will help you realize whatever is happening with her ears is just a temporary thing :) |
I'm glad Tatum is doing fine. Poor little thing! I understand how you must have felt; it really kills us when they are hurting and there is not much we can do... BUt, yeah! she's alright! :) |
so glad to hear Tatum is "up and atom" again! How are you feeling? |
