YT 500 Club Member | homecooking question When you first started giving your baby home cooking food did they have diarrhea? Armani ate the chicken and rice we gave him last night.. and had diarhea today so I am just wondering if its just unfamiliar food

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | chicken Ive heard chicken and chicken eggs can cause the poops....Not from switch of diet (which that could be also) but the chicken itself. Diggy after eating chicken breast gets loose stool (sometimes bad), but if i give hamburger or turkey he is fine....I guess they are just like us some food agree some dont????

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Ohhh have I mentioned his gas from eating egggsssss.......woooooooweeeee He is one smelly boy after eggs. Now I can eat them with no problem my hubby eats them and he is also gassy and in the bathroom a lot! SO I would guess the chicken is the source. ??? I am going to test Diggy witht he chicken again today. If he gets the poops again I will know my answer! He just loves chicken so much I am really hoping it's not that.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Well there definatley are a lot of things that can cause the loose bowels. I home cook, and he doesnt get it from switching food. He has been exposed to many different foods and never seems to bother him until the chicken, but thats not to say that was even the cause.. He loves to chow on bird poo, helicopters from trees (he loves em), sticks, and anything else he shouldnt have. How many bowels movements have been loose? I dont get uptight until 3 or more. If we can get it out of seemingly nowhere I figure they can too. My sister gets it from getting excited, I get it form being stressed, sometimes it goes the opposite way and we cannot go. Who knows. Has he has a fecal test? Diggy also had some weird poo's when he had coccidia. Is that a possiblity?

YT 500 Club Member | He is on meds now for giardia second round. Ya armani eats bird poop and sticks. Well it was just one loose stool and about an hour before that he had a really good (dont ask why I examine stool lol but with all the giardia we have had a good stool is exciting ) so hopefully it will pass. My boyfriend is going there now to take him outside and play

| it is VERY common for dogs who have switched from kibble to home cooking to have diarhhea for a few days.... their body is cleansing out the "crap.. if you will" that was the kibble... it will take about weeks for his body to fully adapt to his new food with layla i also noticed a few days where she slept a lot.. this is also normal.. .their little bodies are just adjusting |

| Yep, I too have read that many times, they'll get diarrhea when you switch their diet from dog food to homecooked because their bodies are basically being cleansed like marcerella02 said.
