Tink is in the hospital.
 

Something is wrong with her right back leg. She won't put any weight on it when she stands. She runs fine and is getting around OK, but when she stands still she lifts that leg and when she walks, she limps. It's been that way since right before I left for Texas almost 2 weeks ago.

So I called the vet this morning and he said to bring her around this evening. When he examined her, he couldn't find anything so he wants to sedate her in the morning and do x-rays. So I had to leave her overnight. I miss that little furbrat. I've only been back 1 day and I had to give her up already! :cry:

I'm thinking she hurt it taking her flying lessons from Stedman! But she was still practicing her goalie shots for soccer. She's getting pretty good. As long as she has a toy in her mouth, she pushes her ball around with her feet to bring it to me. It's too cute!

I hope she just has a bruise or sprain from jumping off the back of the chair and that nothing is broken or torn!

Please send up a little prayer for her when you're talking to Him.

ahhh iam so sorry your baby is hurting. my little charlie hurt his leg when he was 6mths , he limped for about 3 days so i took him in, vet seemed to think he just jumped off the couch or chair the wrong way.i will be praying for you and your baby that everything will be ok:)

Oh no!! My precious Tink is spending the night away from home....in the scary vet place??!! That poor girl!

I am sure it is just one of those simple things.....she is in our thoughts and prayers........as are you!!!

Aww, I'm so sorry Tink is hurting. Bernie sends lots and lots of get well kisses and hugs...so do I:) Poor Tink. Please keep us posted on her progress. It's gotta be tough leaving her in the hospital so quick after getting back...

Ah.... I'm so sorry to hear about Tink. :( Poor baby. Saying a prayer that the surgery goes well and Tink has a full recovery. :hands:

Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers.

It's the Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) that is completely detached. The vet could bend her knee clear over to the side when she was sedated. Nothing showed up on the X-rays, so he did a deep palpation and found it. He said it is the first he's seen in 31 years of practice. Way to go Tinkerbelle!

So, he is calling a specialist in the morning to make an appointment for her to be assessed for surgery. He said he does the ACLs but has never done an MCL and doesn't feel qualified. He did express confidence in the surgeon at the other clinic and I checked out his credentials. He's OK.:thumbup:

I brought her home this evening and will try to keep her quiet 'til I hear from the vet tomorrow. She is in good spirits and wants to play but she is way subdued from her usual perky personality. She is holding that back leg up and won't put any weight on it at all.

My poor little furbaby girl. :cry8: Please keep praying for her that she will go through the surgery easily and heal well and quickly. And pray for me that I will remain calm and be able to give her the care she will need. I love her so much. She's a precious gift. :)

Oh Tink! Jaxon sure hopes you get your ouchy fixed!! My sissy's pom has the same thing!! She had knee surgery & 3 weeks later she was holding that leg up-she was getting worse, not better-so they took the pin out & it still didn't help. Now they say it is the same thing as Tink & she will have to have another surgery! All our prayers & keep us posted! Hugs-Kay & Jaxon

Oh crud! I hope that doesn't happen to Tink. Did they say why the surgery wasn't working?
