YT 500 Club Member | Omg I took Armani to go with my boyfriend and I to the pet store. Its pretty hot here but we it was towards the evening to figured he can stick his head out the window a little from my lap. He did ok on the way there. But on the way home he threw up three times I dunno what happened. It could have been a combination of the heat and bouncing up and down in the car (he usually lays still on my lap) but today he was sitting up. Or it was the heargard I gave him about 2 1/2 hours before has this ever happened to anyone? from the heartgard or the car ride? We came home, I tried to get him to drink and he wouldn take it. He finally licked an ice cube. Then my boyfriend took him outside and he ate a bunch of grass and went running. He seemed better. We took him on a walk so he can get fresh air. HE was seemed fine. He ate some boiled chicken when we got home and now he is sleeping

| I would call the vet to see if vomiting 3 hours after giving the medicine would mean he would need another dose. I'm not familiar with heartguard - my dogs get Interceptor. When you call, mention the heat. There are some days it's too hot to take the dogs in the car even with the AC on. Sometimes I even run the car for a minute first to get the air going. Then Sammy sticks her face in the AC the whole way anyway. You might try a car seat, so that he can see out the window. That might help. I don't know what to do for him, except watch him and make sure he is drinking and peeing. That would mean he's not dehydrated. Others will have better advice for that.

Thank you for answering me He did fine on his walk. He drank when we got home and ate. Now he is sleeping. I am honestly praying it was just all the motion in the car and heat and not the heartgard. What is inceptor? I will need to look into that.

| Interceptor is heartworm medicine. I assume that is what Heartgard is? My vet knows I am picky about what I give my Yorkies and that is what she recommends.

| My dogs are all on Heartguard and do fine on it...I bet it was a combo of the heat and the car ride...you might need another dose..maybe not..talk to your vet tomorrow and find out..sounds like he is doing well now..probably a bit of motion/heat sickness...grass is usually ate to calm an upset tummy and its pretty normal for them to eat it...maybe he was a bit dehydrated..anyhow check with your vet about needing another dose before you re-dose him...it might have been in his system long enough to be ok..I know it can be pretty scary to see our babies feeling out of sorts!! | Hold old or big is Armani? When my pups started on heartguard, because he said it may cause and upset tummy, my vet always suggested 1/2 the first month and the other half the next, then start with a whole one the third month. Must have worked, no one ever got sick. Hope he feels better. |

| We use Interceptor, not Heartgard. Supposedly Interceptor is the safer for small dogs.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Tati I also use interceptor for Bella....Diggy is revolution. I think the meds being in his belly, getting all worked up and hot could have done it. Id continue with boiled chicken and rice for a day then back to regular.

| Glad to hear that he is fine!! Did you ever figure out what the throwing up was caused by? My male, Harley, threw up in his crate the beginning of last week, no reason, no other symtoms....he was fine. The little guys just get tummy aches once in awhile!!
