Hi everyone. Just got home from the vets. She was given a full examination, the works from the head vet. Turns out she has a bacterial enteritis. She's only just reached the time when she will be able to go out after her vaccinations, so we went through all the things that could have caused it, as she hasn't been out anywhere. The vet is convinced it's down to Pedigree Chum puppy food. She says they are beginning to have real issues with Pedigree. Says the salt contant is now too high & disrupts the bacterial balance in the gut, allowing bad bacteria to set up infection. I was amazed. This is supposed to be one of the top pet food brands in the UK, has been for ages, has sponsored Crufts for years & recommended by lots of vets & breeders. Well I won't be buying any more that's for sure. Ellie is on an antibiotic, 5 days. Thank you for all your concern. It's been lovely to have all your help & support. Meggie xx |
