Poor baby! Thank you for the quick update! I'm so glad they now know the problem and he will be on his way to recovery!! Will keep Mickey in our prayers!!! |
man that sounds so painful :( and I'm really glad they pinpointed the problem...I'd give him time on the food... he may not be hungry after being sedated and it may take a day for him to get his appetite back. Good luck to Mickey !! |
OH poor baby. Can I snuggle him when he feels better? That's got to be so tough... and even worse when the vets don't cooperate with you the FIRST time you take them in. I've been through that myself. Pixie once broke her arm on a Friday afternoon, and we took her to the ER vet. They put her down, forced her to walk on it, moved it around, and insisted on flushing her system to get the pain killers out of her body before they hurt her. They insisted her leg was perfectly fine. We were really pissed since we took her in and specifically said, "her arm is broken, we need x-rays and a cast"... and instead they flushed her body of pain meds. They were like, if she still hurts Sunday, bring her back. Hell no - you won't care for her now, why would we bring her back? That Monday, we went to see another vet - her arm was broken in 4 places and she needed reconstructive surgery on her elbow ASAP - and they were upset that 3 days had already passed and her bone was starting to heal. So yeah, we've learned to be more assertive with the vets - if we really feel or suspect something, we get it done regardless of whether the vet thinks we should. We don't want our baby living in pain for days when she could be cared for. |

Just a quick update. I had to run to the store, I told Hubby to keep checking on Mickey, Hubby sleeps days and works nights, and ways, when I got home there was pee every where, some had blood in it. I went in the kitchen 2 spots of pe, I went in the dinning room 1 small spot of pee. went in the livingroom 3 spots of pee. I have never been so happy to see so many pee spots Yes even on my carpet. Mickey is potty trained to go out side and also uses the peepad, He must of wanted me to know he can pee. I know were not out of the woods yet. but man when I came in and seen him standing there wagging his stub, That made so much stress go away. Minnie ran and hid, she knew she wasnt going to get blamed for all those pee spots. lol I had to call her out from other the couch just to let her know mommy wasent mad an dgive her a big hug. I to thought of the recall not only this time but also the other times they have gotton sick. I had asked the vet two times about this and the first time he said Nah. and this time he looked at me and walked out of the room. Im saving all their bags of food, I have every sinse they first got sick and it was just 3 or 4 weeks ago. Please pray Mickey keeps peeing and passes all those crystals. Thank you all. |
OMG he didn't even ANSWER you?! I am so very, very glad that he's peeing everywhere! He must be feeling *so* much better... poor baby :( I still want to cuddle him, though. |
Glad he is getting better! |
I am praying for Mickey . |
If anyone reads this and your dog is having these same problems. Dont do what I did and let your vet rush you out with out running test and xrays. By him guessing it was just a tummy ache and giving him pills for it, it only made him better for a little while. I will never again let them rush me, I will always demand that they do what I ask them too. Now I have two big vet bills in stead of one. from taking him back for what he should of checked in the first place. Mickey was trowing up but was still playing and just over the late night hours he got 90% worse, It happened that fast. so if you see your baby's straining to pee, please demand that the vets do xrays an dtest to save you from taking him back and prolonging his suffering. He could of died. and we are not out of the woods yet. he can still get blockage again. |
