I just saw this thread, I'm really happy that your baby's heart is ok!!! She sounds like shes in fantastic hands and hopefully will be back to 100% soon! I would still try to get a refund from your first vet, they sound negligent and should have noticed something wasn't right. Thank goodness your new vet noticed (although thank goodness it wasn't her heart :) ) |
:happyboun What a difference a day makes. I'm so happy to hear the wonderful news. Get well fast, Zoie!!! |
OH YAY!!!! I'm so relieved and happy for you:cry:<<<happy tears>>> I love your nickname for her, that cracked me up:yelrotflm , chicken nugget!!!:D |
I am so happy to hear good news! :) |
I'm so sorry to hear about your baby. This link might be helpful to you for long term therapy for heart conditions:http://www.marvistavet.com/html/hear...e_therapy.html Im glad your baby is better yeah!!! |
I just read this thread and the news could not be better. Mind you pneumonia is very serious but at least it's not her heart. She is going to have a bronchoscopy. It's a endoscopic proceedure where they will sedate her and send a small tube with a camera and instruments to do a washing and take a sample so that they can do a culture to discover the exact germ that is growing and what antibiotic is the best to treat it. Depending on the antibiotic you might need to do occoasionally need to do bloodwork to check levels of the drug or her kidney function. I am just so happy for you!!!!!! Let's celebrate!!!!!!!!!       :cheers:  |
I'm so happy for the latest news! Pneumonia is still a very scary thing so I'm praying for her speedy recovery!! |
WOW! That's good news. Still serious, but of the possible scenarios, this is definitely one of the better ones.:) |

I wish you would have e-mailed me girl!!! :( Thank GOD she doesn't have heart failure though - when I read that my mouth LITERALLY FELL OPEN! :( Then I thought that I had better read on to see if you had posted any updates. Well Im glad that Zoie doesnt have heart failure. I will keep her in my thouhjys and prayers for her quick recovery of the pnumonia. Hugs. |
Update Took Zoie in to the vet hospital today with the internal medicine specialist. They are doing the bronchoscopy today and i will find out the results in 3 days. They are keeping her for sure until wednesday to make sure she is back to normal.. or atleast as normal as possible before she comes home. They said i could bring her home early but we would have to get a nebulizer and watch her 24/7, so i opted for them just to give her 24 hr care instead, and get her back to normal.. Shes not getting enough oxygen because of the pnemonia, and shes dehydrated and needs antibiotics. So they will wait till her oxygen level gets back to 100.. right now it's 91. Shes got severe pnemonia.. they said they see this most commonly in puppies from petstores. Anyways, the place is only 3 mins from me, so i can visit her anytime i want 24/7. So i'm going tonight to see my little nugget. I already miss her, i feel so terrible for her, but i know that she is getting the best care possible and she will get better and back to biting my toes in no time :D |
Great thing it isn't her heart, but sorry she's got pneumonia, hon. Let us know how she is after your visit. OK?:) |
I bet you never thought you would be so happy to have someone tell you your puppy has pneumonia:D I just wanted to tell you I know how you feel, our little guy just turned 8 months a few days ago and my poor guys has been thru so much.....but they are tough as nails....I am glad to join you in your exictement of celebrating pneumonia.....I am a people heart nurse and do see this sometimes with us humans.....heart failure vs pneumonia...sounds like all is well and back to normal in no time.....just let her know, no more smoking...:p ...Ty sends her a big hug......Bless you guys Christine, TJ and Tyson |
"Bless her little heart." I'll bet you can't wait to get your little chicken nugget back home to her Happy Meal! I'm so glad it's not her heart. Other things can be fixed. You have a wonderful vet.:) |

I'm glad too that is not her heart, your baby is so cute:aimeeyork |
I'm so sorry to hear about Zoie. Please let us know when you find out more information, and prayers are coming your way. |
I saw Zoie this morning!!! She was chipper and happy and about to bite my nose off cause she was so excited to see her mommy :D :D :D :D :D :D They did the procedure yesterday, so now they are keeping her in an oxygen tank so she can get the most oxygen in lungs that she can.. Her oxygen leven is up to 96% from 87%... which is GREAT. She is also on a high dose of antibiotics and something else to help break up the mucus in her lungs. So her nose is all runny and shes coughing up a ton of mucus.. which is very good.  I'll get an update later today... I can take her home as soon as her oxygen level gets up to 99-100%. p.s. she hasn't even pottied in her little oxygen room, shes been such a good girl. It was so hard to leave her again today. I might be able to take her home today or tomorrow morning. I  my little chicken nugget |
