ER vet didn't answer. Sounded like it was their day off or something. I called my vet, I didn't first cause half the time he doesn't answer, he said it sounded like low blood sugar to him and he agreed with LolaBella that I let her have too much sugar. He said to give her pedialite. He didn't seem too worried so I told him I'd call him tomorrow if she wasn't better. |
Let us know how she's doing tomorrow...I pray that it's nothing serious. |
Me too, I will probably be up all night disturbing her sleep. Sylvia |
I am sorry to hear your little baby is having seizures. I go through the same thing with Icky but he is 2 1/2. If and when your puppy starts to seizure, get an ice pack and apply it to the lower back. It will help to reduce the seizure time and keep their core body temp from going so high. I hope he is ok and this is just a fluke. Keep us updated on how you are both doing. |
For anyone whos yorkie has low blood sugar siezures. The low blood sugar can cause brain damage. You need to make sure they are eating. Something, anything. hand feed hem if you have to or take some karo or honey on your finger and put it in their mouth. The best treatment is prevention. put karo in their water, until they are old enough and big enough to be able to control their sugar levels. My husband is a diabetic and we have dealt with many low blood sugar episodes, and they get very stupid, they will refuse to eat, you have to force it into their mouths. keep a honey bottle with a spout on it, get the spout into the mouth and squeeze. |
Lily is doing much better. She's back to beating up her brothers. I am still worn out but I feel better seeing her back to near normal. Thanks for everyone's well wishes and advice. Sylvia |
Good to hear she's feeling better :) |
I didn't think puppies were to be taken from their moms until 12 weeks? I hope she's alright. |
Open Fontel on a 6 month old puppy, is that serious?? I have an opportunity to get a beautiful puppy but the breeder told me he has an open fontel. Other than that he is healthy, she is reducing the price considerably (of course) because of this condition. I don't live an active life style, my kids are grown and out of the house. Do you think this could work out for me? |

I would suggest you ask the breeder if you could take the puppy to your vet and have him checked out. You aren't out any money if you keep him. Well, I'm assuming your contract will say you have to take him to the vet within 48 hours. Sylvia |
