she got into the garbage! i came home from the mall today and there was garbage all over the place. what makes it worse is that i weighed mika- yesterday she weigh 9.5lb, now shes up to 11lbs. im scared that somethings going to happen to her. she's acting normal though, just sleepier than usual, so i don't think we will take her to the vet.. what do you think ? |
do you have any idea what was in the bag? |

I pulled this from a website I found.. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/...in654043.shtml TOMATO AND POTATO: The red, ripe fruit of the tomato is edible and may cause nothing more than stomach irritation to pets with sensitive stomachs. It's the green part of the tomato or a green unripe tomato and the plant part - the stem, the leaves, etc., that is hazardous. Tomatoes and potatoes are in the same family of plants, so both have similar side effects if the green part of the plant is ingested. Again, depending on the amount ingested you will see the common gastrointestinal effects - vomiting, diarrhea and drooling. In addition to these signs, look for decreased heart rate and drooling. Hope shes feeling better tomarrow:sleep: |
Watch her very closely, tomatoes are a "NO NO" food and lasagna generally has a tomato based sauce. Good luck..... poor baby hope she doesn't get a belly ache |

Thats what it says here.. The red, ripe fruit of the tomato is edible and may cause nothing more than stomach irritation to pets with sensitive stomachs. I'd just watch for the symptoms it lists tonight and tomorrow until she passes it..but if your really worried then just take her to the vet.:teddy: |
Oh, I forgot to mention...mine have eaten tomato slices...and they were fine after.. |
i forsee diarrhea and vomit in your future. lol sorry. an upset tummy is to be expected. shes got to get those extra food pounds out. watch her carefully tho, since she ate alot |
Yeah, i'm going to watch her carefully tonight and tomorrow, and if she's acting fine, i won't take her to the vet iguess |
OH no, naughty girl! I hope she doesn't get too ill, but if she does perhaps it'll turn her off of eating out of the garbage;) Just make sure that if she has vomiting and runny poo, to keep her hydrated:thumbup: Oh big tummyache:cry: Poor girl:( |
I hope your baby is okay. I foresee a long night. At some point she will probably start with diarrhea........ |
well, mika was fine at night and she looks skinnier so guess i worried for nothing:) |
