Zeus died from kidney disease I just wanted to tell everyone that my Zeus had died from kidney disease. I didn't know he had it. He was at the vets 6mos ago. and he was good to go. In Dec. 06 I noticed he was losing weight just a little, but was still acting like Zeus. then on Monday night Feb. 12th he was playing with he son and the went outside to pee, I was watching him then he started throwing up white foamy stuff. I thought he ate something and got sick (I wish thats all it was) Iwatched him all night and in the morning he still didn't act like himself. He ate beef jerky and thats what I thought it was WRONG. I called the vet they did blood work and it was too late for Zeus. All his test were very high. The vet said nothing he could do. So I had to do the worst thing I could ever do I had to have him put down. He was in too much pain and very weak. I did it for him, and I told him that, Itold him I love him and I was so sorry, It makes me cry thinking about the little man I loved so much since the day I got him. So please if your yorkie starts arching his back like a cat has the shakes vomits and loses weight theses are not good signs. My yorkies go to the vet but sometimes it the in between check ups that we must watch out for. Thank you for reading this Just in 3 days Zeus was gone. if there is anything i can tell you about this disease just ask. SusieZeus |
I am terribly sorry for your loss. How old was Zeus? |
I am so sorry for your loss....I wish there was something I could do or say to make it easier but there not...I had to put my Tucker down from Liver Shunt, and it is hard, it was like losing a child...but I will tell you this, you did the right thing for Zeus, he was in pain, now he isn't so that makes you a good mom, he didn't suffer much...It will take time, and there will not be a day go by you don't think of him, but time does ease the pain, my prayers are with you & your family....Rest in Peace sweet Zeus:( |
I am sooo sorry! I can't even imagine. That breaks my heart for you. |

I am so sorry for your loss :( It must be terrible to be without your precious little guy... What do you mean about protein being the cause? Can you explain that some more, so we can know what to watch out for or not to do. thanks, Misty |
:( :( :( :( :( :( I'm so sorry for your loss |
I'm so sorry for your loss. |
Protein was what the vet told me he had too much of. He said that alot of dog foods have just way too much. And that was all i had to hear. he said the the protein is sometimes bad, not all dogs can eat a high protein diet. toalso watch out for salts. our little guys can't have alot of it. to read all labels and compare what is inside that bag of food we buy. When our little ones start out watch what they eat. So a lesson I learned the very hard way is too get their blood checked and watch for any change and read all labels. And I will because of my little babies I have still have here. |
I am so sorry for your loss. I know there are no words that can take away your pain, but we are here for you. |
I'm so sorry for your loss:( |
I'm so sorry... I can see you loved Zeus so much. Making the decision to free him of his pain is the biggest act of love you could have given him. It took courage to give him his final gift. Bless your broken heart. He is free of pain now.. |

our prayers go out to you in this trying time.... |
I know this is such a sad time for you and your family. Our sympathy to all of you. this is when you cherish the love that they gave you with all the joy in having him in your life. Take care. |
I've been in that situation and i know that is by far one of the hardest decisions to make. I'm so sorry and my prayers go out to you and your family. I do have some questions because my little one has had some similar symptoms. She was shaking last wednesday when i woke up but i gave her some nutrical and she stopped so i thought that was the culprit. She was fine and then today the shaking started again. She also did the back arch thing which she has never done before. Other than that she hasn't really had much of an appetite today at all and just wants to sleep. I'm probably going to take her to the Vet first thing tomorrow but was just wondering how long your little guy had the symptoms you were describing. |
I am so very sorry for the loss of your little one. :( |
I'm so sorry for your loss:cry: |
