Daisy Is In The Hospital And Might Die!
 

OMG i don't know if i can handle anymore with this as you all know she still has giardia and it has gotten worse well my vet called in a perscription for Flagyl and my mom went to pick it up for me. Well she got home and i gave her the recommended dose which was 1 tsp 2x a day for 14 days well i gave her a tsp and started to think after that it seemed a lot to give her well i started to think about it and noticed that they didn't give us enough for the 14 days so i called the phamacy and they were puzzled for a min and i said you only gave me enough for three days. Well the tech put me on hold and i heard her takling to the phamacist they originaly had the dose at 1 tsp but decided they could concentrate it more well they never changed the dosage on the lable andit was 5x the amount she was supposed to have it was supposed to be 1 ml and they told me to give her 5ml(1tsp) we had to rush her to the hospital and they gave her a shot to induce vomitting she has to saty there for 3 days and have blood taken for the next 3-5 days i had told the pharmacy that they neede to pay for the bill and they said they would well the total was $1400.00:eek: :eek: :eek: and thank goodness the pharmacy has an emergency # i called because the vet wanted the money tonight the pham called me right back and he said he was so sorry and he paid the bill over the phone with a credit card. I am just so worried she could die and she could have major damage to her liver. I am at might wits end with all the problems i have been through latley. Please pray for Daisy to be ok Thank you guys.

First of all BIG HUGS to you!! I cant believe what is happening to poor Daisy...I will be saying big huge prayers for her tonight and keep you in my thoughts!!

How old is she now? She is so tiny. Is the breeder helping with vet expenses or prescriptions from the giardia ?

I don't get how pharmacies (for both people and pets) can be so irresponsible and careless. :thumbdown

She is 14 weeks and she weighs 2 lbs 2 oz. the breeder offered to send me the medication for her but i told it was ok i would take care of it. The giardia was a shock to us all me the vet and my breeder. I'm not mad at her the other yt members that got dogs from her are all fine no giardia and the breeder treated all her dogs for it as a precaution after i told her. But this is a horrible horrible mistake on the phams part what if this was a child?
