i think as soon as i know she is done throwing up we will make the 10 min drive to the drug store... i'm going to try a different flavour of pedialyte and you can also get them in freezies... and i think i'll pick up a siringe (sp?) hwoever.. i got her to drink water.. and she just spit it up  around 6 i can give her a bit of food with her medication... the doctor said to wait until before bed but i want to know she isn't going to be up throwing up all night... she wakes me to poop.. but i don't think she would wake me if she had to get sick... poor baby... she is so tired (mommy is too) and hungry. i can hear her little tummy just a grugleing as i write this... 6 can't come soon enough!!! |
Just seeing this post.......:hands: are going your way! So sorry to hear that she is sick :( |
Poor little Layla - I feel so bad for her, and you too. She would probably feel a lot better with something on her little tummy. I'll be praying for the clock to hurry a little faster and get 6 her so she can have something to eat. Bless her tiny heart. Hugs for you both and a special wish for a quick recovery for Layla. |

Get better Layla. Poor baby girl. I hope she can keep the meds down so they can start to work. Hopefully she will feel better when she wakes up from her nap. Hang in there, I know it can be very stressful when they get sick. :getwellso Carol & Buddy |
i'm going to get some chicken broth too! layla LOVES chicken and maybe she will drink something with some flavour... i'm jsut so nervous to make the car ride over there.. i don't want her to get sick.. when we are in the car she is in her crate and i know getting sick in there would make her upset... i guess i just gotta do it :) |
Let us know later tonight how she is. Kisses and hugs for Layla...and mommy, too.:) |
Maybe leaving her home would be better for her tummy? I dunno, you know her best:) I read here somewhere that we're supposed to stick with the non-flavored pedialtye for some reason, though I don't know why:confused: Is her puke yellow and foamy looking? If so, then it's for sure time for something in the tummy, even a saltine cracker would be good, like when we're feeling pukey. I can't stop thinking of her and you and hope to read some good news soon:love: |
oh thank you luna's mommy!! well she has not puked for over 3 horus!!!    so that's great! i'm going to skip the pediatlyte all together and jsut go for the broth.. she isn't drinking the stuff anyways!! i really think she is on the mend *fingers crossed* it was just that medication today on an empty tummy that sent her over the edge because before then she only had diarrhea... so off the store we go (*oh .. layla is beyond spoiled and isn't left home alone  we've created a monster :p) |
Well, of course she's spoiled, she's a PWINCESS:love: :D! I'm so glad that it's been three hours since the last pukey puke, that's great:D If she keeps stuff down, and then only vomits after her medicine, I'd seriously call the vet and tell them that so they can give her something else. It just may not agree with her at all:confused: She's so adorables:kiss: |
I am glad she is better! Hope she will be 100% well soon :) |
Wots of wuck, Layla! Yeah! We ALL know how to spoil them totally rotten!:D |
well i got the chicken broth... i can tell her tummy hurts... she didn't want any... but i managed to get a few squirts down her throat.. lol... i guess it is better than nothing.. but the eye dropper is GREAT! i just gave her about 3ml of the broth.. i want to see if it stays down before i give her more... she is a tired pup... no wonder.. neither of us got sleep last night! here's hoping the liquid stays in her tummy!! |
Yes, a little is a good start. I think it will soothe her tummy. I thought it was better than being empty. Muffin was 13 when that happened to her, so I know just how you feel, Mommy!:D Worry, worry, worry. I hope it works for you. |
I hope she is feeling well soon! Poor baby! When you can feed her, give her boiled chicken and white rice. It isn't as hard on their tummies. Bailey was sick for several weeks after Thanksgiving and to give her, her meds I would crush it into her food or put them in a piece of toddler beef or chicken sticks. It was easier then trying to put in down her throat, I thought I would unintentinally hurt her.:( It is so scary when they don\'t feel well, because they can\'t tell you where it hurts.:( Sending Prayers for a speedy recovery... |
