i hope everything is ok. let us know the outcome of the dr's visit |
could be an ear infection. |
I will keep you all posted. Her appt. is at 3:30 and its taking forever to get here. |
Aww, your baby is in my prayers. Please let us know something as soon as you get back from the vets. |
:( Vet visit The vet thinks she may have a liver shunt. She took a little bit of blood and got a urine sample. She will call with the results of the blood work in the morning. The urine showed no crystals. The stool sample was fine. She also has dry eye an eye drop was prescribed for that.Another med was prescribed Lactulose to keep amonia in her gut so it wont spread. And Clavaox.(antibiotic)Also a prescription diet. Shes treating her as if she does have a Liver Shunt. This poor little baby. We are heart broke. |

Does she constantly do the circling. Lex does it when he get excited and wants to go potty. I would actually have questioned maybe excitement, kenneling or even something nuro before I thought about shunt. This is JMO but vets worry be a bit with their big rush to run tests and medicate the poor things. |
My pom goes in circles all the time when she is excited or walking down the hall. Vet said she was just a highly excitable dog. I hope it is not liver shunt. |
Dogs she do this circling after she eats? Its important to get that lactolose in her if it is livershunt, you dont want the toxins backing up into her. If she does have LS I can give you some info on a yahoo group that has dogs with livershunt or MVD (multiple shunts in the liver which cannot be fixed by surgery but controled by diet) |

I like that hes ruling out the worst first |
Gosh, I hope that your baby can be made well! At least your vet's not pussyfooting around, I like that:thumbup: I hate the "wait and see" attitude of some vets, and even human docs, I lost my precious Starr to a vet like that. Hang in there, and you know we're all praying for you and your baby:love: |
Yt is wonderful! Thank you all so much for the support helpful info and prayers. |
regarding your puppy I hope as well that your puppy is ok, i just wanted to let you know that my yorkie who is now 2.5 yrs old, has had a liver shunt surgery when he was only 6 months of age, and he is doing just fine. So the sooner you find out the better. I hope everything is going to be just fine, and i hope that your puppy doesnt have it, but its always better to check. |
