thanks jess, how do vets test for lyme disease in dogs by the way? |
Lymes disease in dogs isn't considered as serious as in humans. There is a test called the "C6 Test" that will show results 3-5 weeks after a dog is hit with lymes, which is before clinical signs would become obvious. Lymes in dogs is treated with antibiotics for a longer period then what is normally prescribed for other health issues. I hope all will be fine! Jessica |
Hello. Ticks are pretty gross. But I would not get to worried about them. In the midwest, especially in the country they are pretty abundant. I deal with them all thru the spring thru fall season, since I live in the rural midwest. But most are simply just gross, and are not disease carriers. Advantage always worked great for my dogs with ticks. They were clean as a whistle. Deer ticks, or lyme causing ticks, are extremely hard to see as mentioned before, like pencil leads at the end of a pencil or even smaller. |
