| does rabies shot can cause it? Lilo got her last puppy shots on monday including rabies shot! on tuesday she didn't eat verry much, just few treats, but she was drinking water like crazy!!! since yestarday she also had a runny poop, and I was wondering if it can be a side effect from the shots or, should I call my vet. What are you guys giving to your puppies for it??? white rice or something like that???

| Lilo could have had a reaction to the rabies and its caused the loose stool. I feed chicken and rice to mine when they have diahrea. I might not hurt to call the vet and just let them know about it

| I always separate the booster and the rabies by at least three weeks and never give Lepto or Corona - that's a lot of viruses to be injected with at once. I would feed cooked white rice (to firm the stools) and boiled chicken no skin (easy to digest) , chop both of finely so they don't just pick out the chicken. I would also go down and buy a product called Benebac which is just a little tube (inexpensive) of beneficial bacteria to help with the digestive tract. Yogurt also has beneficial bacteria, but I prefer the Benebac when they already have diarrhea since yogurt causes diarrhea in some. I would report the reaction to the vet so maybe with the next small dog he won't give both at once, and if you did get Lepto and Corona, hopefully, he will be take notice of yet one more reaction to these portions of the vaccine. |
