| Hookworms Hello My puppy is 10 weeks old and just diagnosed with Hookworms. The vet said she had them at birth. They gave her medicine right away and I will have to take her back in at 2 weeks for another dose and he said she will be just fine. I am so worried. I noticed she was so thin and I thought that was normal until I saw my bosses yorkies which are her sisters and they are double her weight. Will she gain weight now and catch up or what should I do. The vet seemed to think she will be find but I would like her to gain weight faster, I am worried about her. I Love her and if something happened to her I would just die. My daughter, and granddaughter just moved out and I am having empty next syndrome as it is (crying like a baby) and she is my saving grace. Any help would be appreciated. Laurie

Once she's completely cured of the hookworms, she should begin to gain weight. Is she on Heartworm medication? Monthly tab should keep your puppy free of worms. All except, Tape Worm.

| yes she is on heartworm, and they gave her the worm medication last night and she has to go back in 2 weeks for another treatment. I was assured that she would be ok after that but unfortunately I am always scared anyway. Laurie

| I am sure she will be just fine. Definitely go back for the second treatment. You may want to talk to your vet about giving a B Vitamin Complex vitamin to help with anemia with is caused by having hoookworms. |

| I'm sure she will be fine & probably start gaining weight right away. Do be sure to get the second worming to get rid of every last little blood sucker. Let us know how she does. |
