Yes, I beleive I used it one other time. ( the flea soap) But not 100% positve. |
I don't know about the yellow throw up but I know it's good she's eating give her an hour after you gave her the nutri cal and see how she is. She should be okay by then or at least over half way better. |
Read the shampoo bottle - does it say not toxic? I don't use any pesticides on my Yorkies, there are safe natural alternatives. Check her gum color, if they are white or very pale it could be hypoglycemia (don't give anymore Nutrical - the dosage for Nutridrops is 1 cc per 3 pounds every 8 hours). |
I just went and checked on her and she stood up but seems to be favoring the left rear leg more. She's not acting wiggly happy self either. My plan is to give it until morning, its 12:44am here. She's resting in her kennels right now. I just can't beleive this! |
If she's not better with eating and the nutrical then it most likely isn't hypoglycemia. I would call the er vet and just ask about the symptoms and the flea bath. |
I honestly don't know of an ER vet in my area. I'm from a small town in the country. |
Is it possible that she has a slipped knee? As far as I know when their knee slips out of place they won't necessarily wimper or whine, but will kindof favor it and try not to put weight on it. This would explain the limping and difficulty walking. The vomit episode may have been nothing related to it at all - but to be on the safe side, I'd take her in to the vet and have her checked over. They can check her back legs to see if her knees slip too. Good luck with your little one! |

The yellow liquid is probably bile...like when you vomit all the food that is in your stomache and there is nothing left to vomit, you start vomiting stomache acids or bile...had she eaten today before she started vomiting at all? I live in a very small country town also...does your vet have an emergency number? Dawn |
My best guess is that it is because of the flea shampoo. My sister has a Cocker and when she bathed him he got lathergic and sore....she thought he couldn't walk....at first he couldn't. Then she realized that his feet were sore and he didn't want to use them. She did take him to the vet. SECOND story....I called my friend the next day to warn her not to treat her dog for the fleas she had. Here she had already done it the day before and her Yorkie mix was not herself and didn't want to come out of her bed not did she want to use her legs or eat. Both dogs took a good 4 days to even start getting back to being their normal selves. Just to be safe, I'd wash her down a couple of times with Dawn dishwashing liquid to get the flea shampoo/soap off of her. PLEASE let us know how she is doing. If this is the case, a half of a baby aspirin will help her with the pain. That is the dose my vet recommends. |
I would guess it was the flea soap. Alot of these products are not safe for toy dogs. I would get her to the vet ASAP as the toxins go thru their skin and will cause internal problems. I poisoned my maltese before the days of frontline with a flea product and I nearly lost him due to kidney failure. An emergency room visit is far cheaper than the alternative. I am not trying to scare you but it is doubtful this dog at a year is having a hypoglycemic attack. Good Luck. |

I just read the thread and i'm so sorry you have to go through this! I would also say mabey it had to do with the flea dip mabey it was to harsh for her skin. Please let us know how she is and Good luck! |
Update Well she threw up again at 6am and then she was back to normal ever since! Like nothing even happened. She has ate and played. I tried to keep her quiet today but had a hard time. So I don't know??????? :confused: But she is her old self now???? |
I believe she had an episode of hypoglacemia. Maybe she missed a meal yesterday or she played too hard and thats what brought on the episode. It happens to mine sometimes. P.S. just keep a close eye on her the next couple of days. |
