| Something wrong with his bum Benji was lying on my lap today and he was all wet on his tail. he seems to be trying to clean and pull hair around his bum. do you think i should take him to the vet. i am always afraid that he has something or another and i don't know if i am over-reacting. it seems like something is bothering him in this area. does anyone know what it could be????

| mmm... did you check to see if he has a little buddy hangin on back there? Check the hair and see if there's something caught - dogs always seem to know when there's something amiss back there. Oscar can't stand a poopy bum. Unless he's dragging his bum incessantly on the floor and such, it likely isn't anything too serious IMO... but who am I to talk - I think there's something wrong with Oscar every day!

| I would check him out really good, I know when lexie gets poo on her she acts really weird, and she want raise her tail when she walk (dead give away). If you can't find anything, and he keeps it up, I would take him to the vet..

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too - needs his anal glands drained. My parents have a Carin Terrior and he has that problem. My dad had the vet show him how to do it, but I warn you.... it is probably the worst smell you will ever encounter. So, you might want to let the vet just keep doing it.

| He finally stopped cleaning himself after about 30 minutes. I did check him out real good and didn't see anything. I think I am going to take him to the vet to get his anal glands checked out. Thanks so much guys!!!
