| Dont know whats going on? Today we took Daisy swimming at my parents house. Now that we're home she's VERY tired, which i expect is normal because we get very tired when we swin. The problem is that she's like twitching not bad, it's mostly likes inher bell as if she may have a belly ache. She does have luxating patella, could she have hurt her herself swimming and is in alittle bit of pain? Can she have a belly ache from drinking some water? If it is a belly ache, anything i can do for it? Anyone have an ideas i am a parnoid person and i dont want to run to the ER vet if it's really nothing. i've been waking her up and she's fine, she's not lethargic or anything. She went outside and did good girls (#1 not #2). Thanks for all your help.

| I'm sure she is just tired. Here's the only thing I could find on the net: Question: My dog (approx. 47 lbs) was swimming in a pool today. He seems really tired. Could he be ill due to the pool chemicals? (Christina, Florida) Vet's Answer: It is unlikely that a swimming pool which has not made any of the people who were also using it ill would make your dog ill as long as he wasn't drinking too much of the water. In most cases dogs take every measure to avoid drinking it since they don't like the taste. In any case where drinking too much of the water would make him ill, there would be such symptoms as vomiting and loose feces. This does not rule out the possibility that something unexpected could happen (e.g. a specific reaction to one of the chemicals), but I think it seems more likely that your dog is in fact, very tired! |
