Was it moving? Looks like a piece of grass or something he ate and passed. Tapeworms are white and flat with segmented bodies. |
I am not sure, but it looks foreign. I would bring it to the Vet RIGHT NOW! |
wow, sorry i cant help, but that looks like its part of her poop.. i think ive seen lexi's poop like that one time..just thought she ate something bad.. hope your baby is ok..please let us know the outcome |
I posted in the general section for your post. Tapeworms are white and flat with segmented bodies. Do a search online. Was it moving? I still think it looks like something he ate and passed, but a vet will be able to tell you for sure. Maybe just take it in and have them look at it before your appointment. If it's nothing you could save the cost of a visit. If it's something then you already have the appointment to get it taken care of. |
it wasn't moving..........i'm hoping it is a grass ; thanks everyone for your help! |
I think you should take a stool sample over to the vet to have it checked out. It doesn't look like much in the pic but if you are really that concerned, a trip to the vet is best. They can test it for worms and put you at ease. Good luck with your baby!! |
your right; it wasnt moving. but thanks for the helps! much love, rob. |
thanks everyone; i feel a little relieved; but i will find out at the vet; i'll keep updated. |
Looks like grass. Thor eats grass a lot and it looks like that. |
Chachi had worms before. I dont know what kind though. It looked like small grains of rice in his poop. |

Sorry can't help with that one. We usually have red fuzzy things, (Mac loves to chew his red fuzzy cow to bits) |
I think tap worms come out alive. If you take it off the poop and spread it out, you should be able to tell if its a worm or not. Obviously put some gloves on, or use some utensils! hehe :D good lucK! |
Yep...grass! |
worm Not a tape...looks like a a long blade of grass to me...but ID objects in dog poo is not one of my talents...maybe it is a round worm...???? |
Here's a site on worms http://www.thepetcenter.com/exa/worms.html Not sure if what it is, but it's always best to check with your Vet. I hope it's just grass. Please keep us posted :) :) :) |

Tape worms look like little tiny pieces of flat pasta that comes in some of those pre-packaged pasta dishes.... the ones that are about 1/4" long and are kinda ovalish. We are always here to help another's poop problem! LOL |
LOL! Thank goodness computer technology doesn't yet include smell-o-vision! :tongue4: :fainted: :D I have a cat that gets tapeworms CHRONICALLY. I always read about people seeing them on the poop, and I never do. I always see them crawling out of his rear, and dried up in places where he's been laying. They're the "little wiggley rice" worms. Once, he threw one up, and on the inside they are (as people have sd) flat and WIDE and connected, not long and skinny. Connected side to side, not end to end, if that makes any sense. ANYWAY! All that to say, I'm somewhat of a reluctant tapeworm expert  , and no, that doesn't look like tapeworm to me! Don't blame you for being paranoid, though! |
Has your dog had a wormer from the vet, other than what you mentioned? My vet did it as an injection. That is all he ever had. |
Could even be a piece of string. |
I agree with those that say it looks like grass...tapeworms that I have seen look like pieces of rice to best describe. I have not, however, seen one of the pieces move, but I have also never studied it for very long!! |
It's grass. You can take it to the vet, but expect to get a smile along with the diagnosis :) |
