no appetite I posted on breeder talk butI have not received a response,so i thought i'll post here. I am going to take Gidget to the vet tomorrow but I'm concerned and wanted your thoughts. i took her to the vet got a check up shots and all. The vet gave me the green light to breed her so I did about 3 weeks ago well now she will not eat hardly anything and is very mopey. I have tried chicken, hamburg, cottage cheese, canned dog food, pup a roni treats etc. She takes a few bites and walks away. I don't know how much she is drinking. I got alittle liquid in her. I had a response on my first post that said it was normal like morning sickness. I'm worried

My guess would be morning sickness too. but I am not a breeder, so I'll let them give the advice. Do you have any books on breeding? I have read a couople, but need to read them about 6 more times before I start breeding.

Here's a link - under Behavior it states that it is normal for a mom to not have an appetite (or total anorexia) for a few days beginning in the third or fourth week of pregnancy. So I wouldn't worry as long as it doesn't continue. You could always give her nutrical and pedialyte by syringe until she starts eating. http://www.chastainvets.info/focus/fs_preg.htm
