Prayers coming your way! |
Oh, I am so sorry to hear that.........Hugs and prayers are headed your way. Please keep us posted........... |
that is sad news... I hope and pray that it improves! I don't know a lot about heart murmors. My son was born with a murmor. But it was from a valve that had not closed up yet. Thank god it closed up before they had to do any surgery! I hope that your little pup heals up all on her own and comes home to you! Then she can live a long happy and healthy life! Good luck and lots and lots of prayers come your way! |
Oh goodness, what sad news...I hope she gets better news on her next vet visit - for your sake and for the sake of the little puppy. Thinking good vibes for you! |
We are Hoping and Praying she gets better. :( |
I talked to my breeder again this morning.. she said we can do three things... wait it out till her next vet visit, which is in two weeks... she really dose not feel comfortable selling me or any one a pup with that bad of heart murmur. If the vet visit dose not giving any good news, then I can transfer my deposit to a different pup.. when she has more.. which is in about a month, she will have a nother litter born and I would get 1st pick of the females..if there is any... or I can get a full refund.. I really want the 1st one.. I hope she gets better. I really have my heart set on her... I pray last night and again this morning.. I hope she gets better by he next vet visit |
Hugs & Prayers So sorry, Sweetie. We're pulling for you. :) Jess, Rhapsody, & Tiger |
I hope everything works out for you! Praying for you... By the way..I love the name you've picked out for her :) |
I will pray for that baby. BUT, I have to be honest and say that a grade 2 or above murmur is not one that I personally would take. There are so many complications with that problem and you can spend your pockets empty and still have a broken heart when the time comes to make certain decisions. Your breeder sounds honest so I would just either wait for another puppy, or get a full refund and look elsewhere. These babies become our own so very quickly and it is so hard to watch them suffer if they do. If I were in this situation, I would have to think with my head (for once!) and pass this baby up. I know how it hurts-I lost my heart of my heart last year to heart problems and I still cannot talk about him without crying.. |
I know its a risk getting a puppy with a a level 2 murmur (if hers goes down).. but if it goes down for a 3 to a 2 and the breeder says its ok for me to get her.. then I am going to, I am already attached... I browsed around online(for Yorkies in Tx) and I cant even find a Yorkie who looks as cute as her, to me... I hope she gets better.. not only so I can get her.. But so she can have a happy and healthy life |
Sending prayers and hugs to you and your baby! Please keep us posted! |
Sending prayers and hugs........keep in touch and let us know how your furbaby is doing. Hang in there.............. |
I'm so sorry about your yorkie having a heart murmur! I'll say prayers! Best wishes to you...hugs too!!! |
Thanks for praying.. I really hope she gets better.. I have not talked to my breeder in a few days.. I wont really know anything till she goes to the vet again on the 2nd. Right now I am counting the days down and praying every changes I get, that she gets better... As SOOOOON as I find out something, I will let every one know. Thanks again for the prayers... Keeps it up, please! I would really like for her to get at lest a little better before she see's her vet again on the 2nd. |
I have a small Peke besides a Yorkie (Pixie). He arrived in perfect health at 5 months. He was vet checked every 6 months which I do with all my pets unless they visit the vet inbetween for other issues. At 15 months he was fine at a vet check. At 18 months Pixie needed a booster shot, I took my Peke along for the ride. The vet checked him over as long as he was there. He had a grade 2 heart murmur. We have had tests done to monitor it because he will get worse. He currently shows no symptoms. I wouldn't buy a puppy knowing it had any grade heart murmur. I have been through this previously with two other dogs. They died at 6 and 8 years with the best care, medications, limited activity, etc. It was heartbreaking. Jessica |
It is always sad when these little pups have a heart murmur - and the one that you are hoping to get does, indeed, have a serious one. Count your blessings! Be happy that you found this out as soon as you did and that your breeder is a concerned and fair person. Please don't give in and take this little guy. I guarantee (as another poster said) that you will certainly end up with thousands of dollars in vet bills -and then go on to have a "real broken heart".......far far greater than you are feeling today. I think the least you are entitled to when you get a new little puppy is a healthy one.....and even then, it seems like some of us still have more than our share of vet bills. I can think of nothing more heartbreaking than caring for a little guy for months or years knowing that he is seriously ill, and that he will never live a normal or long life. You need to realize also that a different, healthier, little puppy will win your heart and soul just as much and just as quickly. I agree it would be wonderful if his murmur goes away on its own. I'm not sure that grade III murmurs do, but I have my fingers crossed for you. Carol Jean |
up date.. 6 more days till her vet visit 2 Attachment(s) I talked to my breeder today.. she said it dose not look good:(. You can hear the murmur now when you put her up to your ear :(. She said it was not like that before, but she really wont know anything till she takes her back to the vet on the 2nd. She also said, Princess Bella is the only puppy that has a "condition" and she is the most lively and most playful puppy they have :) It's definitely not slowing her down a bit. She also sent me updated pic. I can't belive how much her hair has grown in two week! She look like a little chunky Monkey :p |
She is cute but If she doesn't improve you will have a very expensive and heart breaking time with her. Cali has been sick alot since I got her and in the 7 months that i have had her I have spent over 5,000.00 on medical bills. Once you have them you cannot not give them the care they need and it can deplete your money quickly. I will pray that she improves and that you make the best decision for you. |
If I were in your shoes, I'm afraid that I would wait it out and opt for a "healthy" puppy. We spend enough money on them even when they are healthy! I know you have your heart set on this puppy but there are other puppies that are equally as cute. We all have letdowns in our lifetime but the smart thing is to use common sense in making a decision. You can't always follow your heart. Perhaps there is another breeder close by that you can check out. |
My prayers are with you, and will keep my fingers crossed , looks like you got great advise from everyone ! |
Praying for the little baby. You did get a lot of great advise and the breeder is being very upfront with you. Good luck. |
I am so sorry. I will be praying for you. Pleases keep us up to date. |
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope everything will be ok. :hearts-en |
