![]() I took my Yorkie Star to the vet today with symtoms of walking wired. She doesn't walk up or down the stairs anymore. She won't jump up the couch, she shakes more than usual. she seems to be scared when i try to go up to her. The vets can't seem to figure out what is wrong with her. They are trying to rule out everything. I do have a 5 month old pit also, so you think he could have injured her in some way. Star's x rays came out fine, vet's are saying it might be her liver, kidneys or a neurological problem. Please advice.

![]() I would doubt that the other dog hurt her and caused this. It does seem like it might be a neurological problem. Sometimes - as more time goes by and symptoms become better defined - these problems becomes easier to diagnose ... or your pup may improve. Keep in touch and let us know how your little guy is doing. Carol Jean

![]() So Star is not improving, I'm waiting for the vet to call me back with the lab results. I'm so depressed I can't concentrate at work. I can't be without her. I just lost a chihuahua 2 1/2 yrs ago. I was in state of depression, so a friend of my gave Star to me. I've gotten so attached to her , she my life. ![]()

![]() Wait and see what the vet has to say and then we'll take it from there. No use thinking the worst. Hope it's nothing serious.

![]() Is she eating and going potty okay? Maybe she is injured, I'd rest her away from the other dog/s and not let her jump up on anything. If she has a liver issue they should be able to do a bile acids test or even see something on a regular blood panel that would indicate that, did they do anything besides x ray? So sorry for you and her. Mary

Explain the wierd walking. Liver problems can cause them to want to be near walls and walk along them. They also do act paranoid of some of thier surroundings. They can vomit after eating, they can tremble or shake and even have siezsures. I would do a blood profile and bile acid testing to see if anything is elevated. Make sure it is done properly with fasting. This way the vets will know how to proceed. Keep an eye on her urine for small traces of blood in it. Sending my well wishes...

![]() I haven't gone to the vet with CoCo yet, however, these days -- he's kind of quiet and not as active. There are his moments where he seems so hyper but then the next, he's all sad looking. My boyfriend and I play with him and give him lots of love, but even then -- he just seems so out of it. What are some of the signs and symptoms if the dog is sick?

I hope the vet can get to the bottom of this quickly. Some Yorkies are very tough, but others weaken very quickly and it is scary. Please keep us posted.
