still has drops of blood in stool/around house a few weeks ago a was on here about snickers not being herself and having alot of diarrhea etc... i took her to the vet and brought a stool sample they said she was just a lil dehydrated and it was just due to her changing food too quickly... well she is still having loose stools and i keep seeing lil droplets of blood around the house and in with her stool last night it can't be her period she is 15wks?? she was just at the vet again last friday we have been there almost every friday since i brought her home  |
I think she needs to go back to the vet. Any time there is blood, and especially at 15 weeks. I would not think she would be anywhere near her period. I would call the vet first thing this morning, and go from there. Good luck! Please keep us posted! |
yeah i am going to call them again but she has had the same issue at every visit and they dont say whats wrong or do anything? this will be the 3rd vet visit in three weeks for the same issue anyone have any ideas? should i get a second opinion? |
That is not normal and I would push them to find out what's happening here....Poor baby ...that must be scary to see. |
Maybe you ought to find another vet if you aren't getting a satisfactory response from this one. Three weeks of diarrhea is not good and the blood in it makes it worse. Maybe you know someone with small dogs who can recommend someone. |

unfortunately i dont know anyone with a dog and i am worried for her i dont mind taking her to the vet every week but it seems like for nothing and i still dont know whats wrong |
I would look in the phone book, and call around, you can ask them if they see many yorkies, or other small dogs. I agree that its time to find a different vet. Maybe someone here knows a vet in your area and could recommend someone. |

I'm from RI so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great... does anyone know what that can mean? having blood like that? |
I had always thought blood in the stools meant they had cocciddia or Guardia or something like that. However Chachi had diahrea a few weeks ago and he had blood in it. The vet said it was from him straining to go to the bathroom. |

i dont know anything about this stuff what is cocciddia and guardia and how do they test for it?? |
I dont mknow how they test for it. My vet just put Chachi on an antibiotic for the diahrea and it cleared up. If it wouldnt have the Vet said he would look at it more. |

Is this fresh red blood? Or is it old dried dark blood? And is it diareha all the time or does she have any normal stools? And what kind of food are you feeding, and have you done a blood panel or bile acid testing on her yet or how about an xray to see if there is an injury? I think you need to eliminate the easy things first. Now you are sure it is coming from the stool and not the urine? |

yes it is bright red blood and it appears to be with her stools its not diarrhea all the time but often i am feeding her nutro and the vet hasnt mentioned a blood panel etc.... i just hung up with the vet and they are now trying to say she is in heat????? she is 15wks is that even possible and are these signs of heat or do i need a new vet?? |
i'm taking her to a different vet right now i'll update everyone later... i just didnt feel comfortable with my vets answers...after not even seeing her?? |
I hope you get some answers. I would be concerned also that it has been going on this long. Keep us posted. |
