| my dog is vomiting My sheltie/lab has gotten into the garbage and it has made her stomache really upset. She did it Friday and seemed OK after she vomit up what she had eaten, but during the past couple of nights she is vomiting a small amount onto my comforters that I have on my couch where she lies. She seems fine except when she goes to eat something, it seems like it is not agreeing with her stomache. Her nose is still cold and wet though. Any suggestions, will the nutrical help, and what is nutrical? I never had to give it to any of my dogs before so I do not even know if they sell it at the petstore. Is it like the pedialyte that you give to your kids when they are sick. How long can a dog go without eating, have not brought her to the vet yet because she has gotten into the the garbage before and it has made her sick but if there is something I can do to speed up her stomache upset it would be greatly appreciated. |

| do you remember what was in the garbage that she got into? cleaning supplies? old meds? spoiled/rotten food? nutrical is just a nutrition supplement. pedialyte works in a different way as it's meant to aid in replishment of electrolytes that were lost due to dehydration. i'd advise you to phone your vet.

| If you don't know for sure what she could have ate from the trash can I would certainly get her to the vet. It might be something that could have gotten stuck in her throat or something that has just really made her sick. |

| Zena is back to herself, she vomitted for the last time last night . I could tell the sign of relief on her face and as soon as she did it she wanted water and something to eat. Water was given but no food until this morning. Boy were the others jealous when Zena got chicken and rice and they got regular dog food. She is running around and barking at the window again, thank god, I did not I would be so excited to hear my dog barking again. She is a real trooper and I hope she learned her lesson this time(doubt it), but my husband has to keep up on the garbage run more. |
