Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | ![]() Baby Blessing had one bout with diarrhea this afternoon. I sure want to get a jump start on this, so we don't have a real problem here. I have a pan of rice cooking, should I give her rice or just the water? She is playful and does not seem to have any other problem, she has had all her puppy shots. She doesn't seem to have an appetite today, but she has always been a very, very picky eater ![]() Thanks. Patti and Baby Blessing |

| ![]() I give Kaopetate..one teaspoon. I add minced chicken to the rice until the stool is normal..adding dry into the rice/chicken..if her stool is improved tomorrow I would slowly give her the dry again..but if it is not I would see the vet. |

| ![]() Sorry about the diarrhea. In the past week we have been through a bout with an upper respiratory bug in one dog and a major bout with diarrhea with the other. For diarrhea you can add either boiled chicken or boiled hamburger to the rice. Keep this up until things shape up again and then gradually return to the regular diet. If the diarrhea starts to increase I would check with your vet so that dehydration doesn't set in. Sometimes the vet will tell you to try Kaopectate but I definitely would not do this until having the advice of and specific directions from a professional. Hope things are better soon. |

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | ![]() I don't have any kaopectate, I do have some pepto bismo? I just gave her some rice, which she is eating. I have chicken in freezer, will get that out and fix it for her. We live in the mountains quite a ways from town, but if need be I can drive in there to get the kaopectate. If she has anymore problem with the diarrhea I definately will get her into the vet. even if it means taking her to the ER. I gave her some nutri-cal. Bless you for getting back to me so quickly. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() Just went through it with both my dogs. They gave them a shot and medicine and put them on a bland diet. Boiled ground beef or chicken with rice. Hope it clears up quick!

| ![]() Canned pumpkin will do the trick -- depending on her size about 1 tsp if she is small. |

Hi, hope Baby Blessing is feeling better. Yes, I give my babies Pepto Bismol. Try 1/2 teaspoon if Blessing is still small. Good luck, let us know how she is doing?

| ![]() I have not heard of using pumpkin and every time I have been asked about it, the dog was constipated. I would try the Pepto, maybe a little cheese ball, rice (very little meat for a day or so,,might be harder to digest) and might try acidophilus or BeneBac. I do not try to control diarrhea the first 2 or 3 poops. Let them get that infected stuff out and then treat the runs. I the diarrhea is bloody or so watery it has no solid material, it is time for the vet. Use honey in water..honey digests better than Karo or white sugar according to holistic practitioners.. |

| ![]() Pumpkin can be given for constipation or diarreha...the fiber helps loosen stools or absorb extra fluid in the intestinal tract...I like it because it is all natural...Safe for puppies or preganant dogs |
