| Help!..yorkie hyperventilating in car! I need help. We have an 11 month old yorkie that has just started to hyperventilate and shake uncontrollably when we travel in the car...short trips to store or our longest car rides is 25 miles. She starts to pant heavily, mouth open, tongue hanging out and shakes uncontrollably, sometimes she’ll whine alittle. We bought her at 9 months old and she traveled in car with no problem. We travel to the lake everyday which is the 25 miles to and from, and I have quit taking her b/c I don’t know what’s wrong w/her. The minute she gets out of car, she’s fine, no panting or shaking. Has anyone had a problem similar or know what’s happening? I’m so worried. Thank you.... |

| You might for the meantime want to get an axiety medicne. Then start making the car fun with lots of treats and slow short times in the car. How is she ridding in the car like in a crate or loose?

| Do you have her in a booster seat raised off the passenger seat where she can look out of the car window, if not I suggest getting one. You don't have to get an expensive one. I bought one in Pet Supplies, Pet Gear it was about $30. but that was 5 years ago.
