| Yorkie with no hair behind ears Facebook friend contacted me to see if I could adopt their yorkie, are having another child and don't have the time for her. She is 4 years old and not coming from good conditions. She has absolutely no hair on her ears, the skin is brown. I am afraid to bring her into my home, I'm not sure if some kind of mite could cause that. Or a thyroid problem. I'm just afraid to let her near my dog.. anyone have any recommendations? I am willing to take her to the vet to get lab work and further work up, but just hesitant. |

| If you don't mind paying, take her to the vet first, they may do a skin scraping and send off to the lab. Tell this friend if the results are ok, you'll take the dog.

| My yorkie also had it - it looks like leather? I used tea tree oil and within a week I saw new hair growth. Worth a try? |

| Please be careful with tea tree oil it is toxic to dogs if they ingest it.
