| I think I would call the emergency vet right now and ask them if you need to induce vomiting and bring him in or just bring him right in. Good luck ! |

I Love Thor Donating Member | Many thanks to everyone who responded so quickly. I called the Animal Poison hotline and they told me to watch him carefuly for 1-3 hours. I also did some looking on the internet and so far from what I can tell he is fine. I am not going out tonight, I'm just going to stay here with him to make sure he is fine. He is totally playful, respondes quickly to things, so I'm thinking that maybe he didn't eat one. The good thing is that the Emergency Vet is literally three minutes away. While looking on the internet, I learned that some dogs are purposely given paxil for anxiety. Anyways, for a dog the size of Thor a 20mg would surely do bad things to him. Through all this panic I weighed him to compare his weight with the mg's that he took and Thor is a wopping 12lbs! So I will keep you guys updated, I have calmed down...out of panic-mode. I just wanted to let you know that as for now I think it's going to be okay, and that he is acting normal. Thanks so much for the support. I means so much that I know I can fall back on YT for support and great friends and great info. The first thing I thought of was "I have to check with YT!" So again, I really appreciate it. |

| Glad to hear Thor is doing okay...but keep an eye out. Last week my daughter's roomate's pomeranian ate a Zantrex 3 and the next day had a seizure from it. She is doing okay now, but they were all scared to death. |

| Oh I am so glad to hear it I know they give dogs Prozac too because at one time Rio was so depressed about having to live with his sister the vet and I discussed maybe putting him on them for a month or two. I THINK thy are in the same drug class. If he HAD to eat a pill at least he ate one that was prescribed for dogs. |

| Whew!! Wow, Hannah, thank goodness everything turned out all right!! Man, that freaked me out. All I did to find that number was a search on the threads for "poison control center", and found the post. By the incorrect use of the letter "E", I gave credit for the info to the wrong Kimberly. Feminvstr posted loads of great numbers! I Love Thor Donating Member | Good morning everybody, Last night was kind of an unrestful one. Thor sleep right next to me and I frequently checked to make sure he was alive!! He was acting fine even two hours after the incident. The hard part was that I couldn't be 100% sure if he ate one or not and my bf didn't know how many were supposed to be in the bottle. I think my heart stopped when I saw that pill bottle with pills all over the floor surrounding it last night. I couldn't stop shaking, and I must have turned bright white! With all the things that I was doing to Thor to see if he was acting normal, he must have thought I was insane! Anyways, that poison number was reassuring, as were all of you guys. What a scary story about the pom have a seizer! I am glad that she is okay. These dogs and their mischieve...I tell you, I'm going to have a heart attack from it someday! Have a wonderful (and safe!!!) weekend! |
