| ![]() Came home from work today and she was fine. Took her out and took her for a walk with no issues. I decided to clean and dust. Then all of a sudden she started shivering and sitting in one spot, and peed. It's been about an hour now and she's not back to normal. She's sitting in one spot on the couch, shivering slightly, with her ears back and her nose up in the air. Her nose in the air and her ears back is what concerns me. She'll look up at you with such a sad and hopeless look. She has allergies and had her to the vet for something similar before, but she didn't keep her nose in the air like this? We called the animal hospital and explained and they said it might be allergies. Any experience with these symptoms? She about 7 months old, and it breaks my heart to see her uncomfortable like this. ![]() |

| ![]() This doesn't sound like allergies..if it were me, I'd get to the vet right away. It sounds almost seizure like. I have a dog with bad epilepsy, and he has a type of fit called a Focal some of the time and some of these symptoms are similar.

| ![]() I wouldnt be comfortable with that answer unless it came directly from the vet, himself. The office staff at my vet like to play vet. Once, just after I got Sissy, I took at stool specimen in that was clearly tapeworm and they tried to tell me it was rice. I insisted the vet look at it and guess what.......tapeworm segments.

| ![]() about another hour later and she's slightly more upbeat. walking around and licking. but still lethargic-like, with her nose in the air. i put my ear up to her nose and chest and it does sound congested at times when breathing. |

| ![]() Could she have gotten into your cleaning supply's? Generally they shake for three reasons cold, in pain or scared, although it can happen with low blood sugar but that shouldn't happen in adult dogs. If she is not cold and you know she is not scared then check her gums and make sure there pink and if all that is ok she might be in pain and that would mean you need to get her to the vet.

| ![]() To me it sounds like it could have been a mild seizure. Did she pace & lick the air afterwards? I am wondering about liver shunt. I saw similar symptoms wirh my Shih Tzu who had one. In any event, I would certainly get her to the vet & see what your vet has to say. Best wishes.

| ![]() Emma threw up and started shaking, then got stiff as a board. I moved her to a cushion and still stiff. After a ER vet visit they said after blood work was perfect more likely a seizure. They don't put them on meds unless it's a reoccurring problem since once on them they are on the Meds for life. I agree with everyone, a vet visit might be in order especially if she does that again. |

| ![]() You say you were cleaning, were you using any kind of cleaning product ? as some products can make your pet sick just from the fumes. One night my neighbor came pounding on my door screaming her head off, saying her dog Maddie was dying & she needed help. I ran across to the house & opened the door & the smell about threw me back out the door. I asked her what the smell was & she said it was an all natural biodegradable cleaner that she uses BECAUSE of her dogs. Well the fumes from that cleaner sent her dog into seizures & almost killed her. People think because it says all natural, non-toxic, biodegradable that it's safe for pets & this is not always the case. Even in the middle of winter if I am using any kind of cleaning product I ALWAYS open some windows & leave them open till I'm done cleaning to prevent my pets & myself from having to breath in those fumes. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() I'd be concerned too about acid reflux/GERD with her nose in the air like that, and the licking the mouth. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...wallowing.html
