OH GOODNESS!!! Look at her precious face!!!! I am in love...I can see why you are so smitten!:love::love: This update made my day! Thank you so very much for taking the time to write all of it. Just tickled pink that she is doing so well! As for her diet.....You might want to try some of the other RX lower fat foods. Hill's ID is one...I use Purina EN for my little Kiche who has had pancreatitis. I don't think it is as low fat but it works for him and he likes it. I also home cook for one of my pups, Cookie, who is on a low fat diet because of lymphangectasia, IBD and pancreatitis. I had that formulated by a vet nutritionist and she has been on it for a few years and loves it. Yes, I have an affinity for yorkies with medical issues LOL Anyway....sounds like your girl is just fine and this was just a one time thing that happened. Your vet is probably right...it was most likely the chew and all will be fine now. She is a lucky pup to have such a wonderful mom! :) |
Your baby is adorable, happy to hear she is doing better. Thank you for the update. (((hugs))) |
I'm glad you guys thinks she's adorable too! We always get compliments on how well behaved she is in public and how quiet she is...they clearly don't see her at home when she is being a little terror! I was so excited when she got in trouble for chasing the cats and barking the week she came home because it meant she was feeling like herself lol We ended up putting her back on her old kibble. She wouldn't eat on Wednesday and we tried everything and the only thing she wanted was her Natural Balance potato and duck. She's been eating that okay for a few days now and has been acting like herself so our vet recommended keeping her on what it working and what she likes for now. And just because I am so excited, the results of my ovarian mass were benign and my ovary had no evidence of cancer!!! |

Vet Bills Hello, I'm a new member, just finished reading your thread, and all the kind supportive, knowledgeable responses you had. I wanted to respond to your vet bill issue. I ran across a website With a list of resources to help with vet bills: grants, groups that offer assistance. I've listed some below: if you run a search "Help with veterinary bills" all kinds of information pops up. They also suggest a "GoFundMe" account. Let your friends and family know, they can donate to help you. Please don't seriously consider putting your adorable pup down because of vet bills. Your vet might be able to work something out, at the very worst, there are Yorkie associations that might be able to place her/him with someone for whom vet bills are not a problem. Arrange an "open" adoption. Sounds terrible when I read this over, I apologize if I have hurt your feelings. I would like to add my 5 cents worth towards the treatment of your pup. You might want to feed your pup smaller meals, 3 or 4x a day rather tha 2 larger ones. It's easier on the stomach. Duck has a high fat content, the fat might be a problem for her/him. It was for my little guy. I had to go to very low fat diet, less than 8%. I ordered a special diet from Just Food For Dogs. They're here in So California. They make their food using human grade ingredients as could be purchased from a grocery. They have a Remedy Diet that is 5% fat made with sweet potatoes and fish, no prescription required. It helped my Yorkie quite a lot. The other thing that helped him was to keep him hydrated when he wasn't drinking enough on his own. I gave him water with a syringe. He did much better, and he drank it easily. Good luck with your dearest pup. I will keep the both of you in my thoughts.
