I don't know why it didn't show up but it is about 6 hrs away. I don't know if we are ready to cross that bridge. But she did walk up stairs to get in her bed up in the game room. It is a positive she that she decided to get up. But concerns me that she chose to go where she knew she would be by herself. We have a verbal follow up Monday and standing appointment Wednesday just in case we need it. |
Yes, UT is a great choice! If this started at the age of 1, she probably should have had surgery. The surgeon I use always recommends it for the young ones. The reason is that when the knee pops in and out it wears on the ligament and they can end up with a tear. If the knee is repaired you cut down the chances of that happening. She is still young and if it is bothering her now, it might be best to get it repaired. They usually don't with older pups because they can repair the knee and then the pup might tear the ligament anyway since it has had years of wear on it from the unstable knee. Sorry I haven't updated. Since Friday the 6th Kiki has went even more down hill. She started throwing up on Monday and started eating less. She hadn't thrown up much the few times she did but it was obvious it was a problem. Back to the vet we went on Wednesday morning. They took her off the pain med and did a full work up on her blood. Everything looked great except she was bordering on dehydrated. They gave her fluid under her skin. As well as an acid reducer and stomach coater. By Friday still no improvement the vet added amoxicillin as well as changed her diet. She is on digestive care i/d. She has eaten it twice on her own. Other than that I'm making soup and giving it to her by syringe. It isn't ideal but got to do what we got to do. She did drink water on her own yesterday. She still doesn't want to leave the bedroom. I think it is anxiety because she did come out last night to see my friend. But she locked up once she got into the kitchen and was stuck. |
I really think it is time to get her to a specialist. Way too much going on. I would honestly start out with internal medicine and go from there..... |
Well we had a very successful lunch at my mom's. We debated on taking her or not even though it is part of her normal Sunday routine. But we decided if it wasn't working we would just take her back home. As soon as I let her out of the truck she hurried into the house tail wagging. She ran in and greeted everyone. She did lay in a dog bed in the kitchen until lunch was served. She ate a very good lunch of boiled chicken. She has acted better today than she has in over a week. |
