She's beautiful even with that big bandage on her hinney.

I'm sure she's grateful for all the tlc she's receiving.

Poor baby. A couple of things you can do 1 is put a wet tea bag on it as tea bags draw out infection or you can use Lavender oil, just a drop directly on the area . Lavender oil is a natural antiseptic & is safe for use on animals & it also takes the pain away.

Update on Miss Phoebe , she is looking good today. We've been doing a saline and salt solution and yesterday it all came to the middle and we were able to get (I hope most of this infection out) This morning it looked so much better and she doesn't even flinch now when i clean it:) Thank you to all that has give advice on the drawing salve cause we have ordered it!! And thanks for wishing her well! My girl is starting to be her self again:)

Yeah she is on the mend!

Have you sprayed to kill those ugly spiders that bit your baby? What type was it or do you know? I'm one of those "the only good spider is a DEAD spider" ......... I'm sure God has a very good reason for creating them but so far it escapes me.

We went back for her follow up today and the vet was pleased with the way it looked. Still doing antibiotics til they are gone and she doesn't mind cause she gets to have cheese with her pill lol! I'm not sure what kind but we have had a lot of rain here lately and the ones we have seen are big and brown , but I do not think it's a recluse. And yes only good spiders are dead one's. Hubby sprayed this weekend so I'm hoping we want see any for a while.

Big question: why do Yorkies get spider bites???? My big dogs have never been bitten......and they are more outside than inside. This just doesn't make sense to me.

You don't get spiders in your home? I have had pups for years and have had spiders...but only once did I have one who was bitten. But...it left a lasting impression on me. Recluse spiders can make a mess of skin. While it is a rare occurrence it is still a possibility!

I get them in my home and usually they are near my garage which is where I suspect they live.

Thanks for sharing the pictures! I wished I had of looked back further to see your thread about the bites because I didn't want people thinking I was nuts lol! We found another spider in our garage tonight so I looked it up and it looks just like the wolf spider. Hubby sprayed this weekend but it's been so wet this past week we are probably gonna have to do round two. I can't handle these things. Today was a good day but every time she went out to potty I was right there with her looking like a mad woman.

I am so glad that your baby is doing better. I am absolutely terrified of spiders.

Just last week I saw my Allie about to sniff one that was in the entry way, so glad I saw it. I screamed and it scared Allie, so was able to squash it.

The one I saw I think it was what the picture you showed was, at least it looked like that.

Yes I get spiders in my house but I've never seen ones like in the picture posted..... I was NOT being negative to anyone..... it just seems strange that little dogs get bit when big dogs don't seem to. . . . Maybe with more human like hair as opposed to doggie hair maybe spiders like their smell better????????

I think also a lot of has to do with Yorkies being closer to the ground than big dog's.

They can be rather sweet smelling at times can't they:D I think you hit it with the hair though. My son has a lab and is always out side and to my knowledge never been bit and if he has it never slowed him down:dogwalk: That thick black coat may be a little tough to get through. And in the summer all she wants to do is roll in that grass and sun bathe LORD help this summer....I be the crazy mama with a magnifying glass :panic:
